Honors Classes Let’s just get this straight. Being an honors student does NOT make me a nerd, or a geek. All throughout middle school I would be the first kid to turn in all of their completed classwork. It was all just too easy. I would also be the one to finish homework before the class was even over, that’s just how I’ve always been. I would also never really need to take a huge abundance of notes because I understood the lesson very easily. 96-degree weather called for bacon burgers and a big pitcher of cold lemonade. My prayers were answered when my mom walked out of the screen door to my backyard with a plate full of perfectly rounded patties. There was no way I was going to start my sophomore year of high school being known as part of the group of “know it all’s” and “overachievers”. The smell of dinner being made and the sight of the blue sky that seemed to go on forever made me realize how good life was. It made me realize that I shouldn’t care what other people think of me. I knew I was smart enough to take the more advanced classes, so why not? First day of class and I sat in the back of room 211. It felt different than all the other classrooms I have been in before, but it also felt exactly the same. The bookshelves, the desks, the motivational posters on the wall, they were the same as the other rooms. It was the people surrounding me that made me feel different.
