Civil Rights
Civil rights activities in the US dates back in the early 19th century. This does not though limit the start date for these initiatives but only gives an outline of when civil rights initiatives began having effective impacts on policy making. The initiatives have been of diverse nature ranging from women empowerment to emancipation and freedom of racial slavery. The push for these inititatives has been characterized by social protests and civil wars and thus their impact on the social life could be ignored. This paper seeks explore the impacts civil rights initiatives on immigration. Focus is concentrated on how these initiatives have shaped current public policy making and the chances of how still the initiatives will continue influencing public policy making in days to come. The paper then concludes by outlining how these initiatives have affected the life of an average American citizen.

America prides in diversity of the people who live within her borders. President Obama’s second term victory speech also affirmed this that the US is strong because of the diversity of her people and culture. A good percentage of the American population is composed of immigrants from other countries. Nearly all the countries of the world are in one way or another represented in the US. In addition to this, there are immigrants between the different states in America and hence immigration forms an important aspect in policy and decision making.

...grants are economic immigrants and when they enter the American job market, they are ready to do any work for whatever amount irrespective of whether that reward is worth it or not. This way you find that the legal American lacks an opportunity to work and be paid well. However, the immigrants help the economy grow. There are some jobs which Americans are unwilling to do. When these immigrants crossover they bring their expertise to the job market and are employed on these jobs. This way they assist very much in the production process and help the American economy grow. If these immigrants did not take up these jobs, production would perhaps be very expensive because the producers would be forced to use costly machinery. Some immigrants are very highly skilled and their entry in the US gives them a chance to impart positively the society they live in.
