Ill Will Buddy was a family man. After retiring from the Green Berets, he envisioned a quiet life with his wife and two kids. His home sat deep in the woods off the Cherokee River in North Carolina. Time moved as steady as the river. Buddy could not be happier, until one day, a man by the name of Phil Dahmer pays an unexpected visit to his house. He knocks, and nobody answers. He peeks in the window, nobody is home. He goes to the back door, and walks in as if he lived there himself. Phil notices that nobody is home, so he checks out the entire house. He looks aimlessly at the family pictures, fixes a cup of coffee, and sits in the recliner all by himself. He sits in silence with no recognition of who lives here or what he will do next. Phil replied, “You have two beautiful children.” Phil walked over to the porch swing and started swinging. Buddy was astonished and confused and walked over to Phil. “I suggest you…” Buddy looked down to find a knife plunged into his stomach. Buddy’s wife and kids screamed and started to run while Phil smiled and got into his car. He started slowly down the driveway, trailing Buddy’s wife and kids. . . . Buddy woke up in the hospital. The county Sheriff was at the side of the bed. When Buddy woke, the Sheriff told him his wife and two kids had been killed in a hit and run. The Sheriff added that they were found just a couple feet from their driveway. Buddy knew what had happened. Buddy asked, “Are there any leads?” “Not yet.” Said the Sheriff. Buddy sat up, put on his boots, and headed towards the exit. “Wait Buddy, I have to ask you a few questions about the knife we found in your stomach.” said the Sheriff. Buddy ignored him and went home. A few days later, after doing some recon, Buddy was surprised to find out that Phil Dahmer working at Wendy’s, just five miles down the road from Buddy’s house. Phil was working the register and taking orders, so Buddy walks in with a head full of steam ready to kill Phil. Buddy walks up to Phil where he stood taking
