The ideal renaissance woman is described by her intelligence, maturity, femininity, and grace, to name a few. Realistically, it doesn’t seem possible to find an accurate example of these qualities in the modern world. My mom, however, has been the closest match. My mom portrays modesty and politeness perfectly on a day to day basis. Her modesty is seen in her ability to take compliments, such as papers written about her excellence, without them going to her head. She also makes sure that whoever she’s interacting with feels honored by firing compliments at them and acknowledging their accomplishments. For example, at dinner parties and get-togethers she can always be found keeping the focus off of herself by praising the other person’s qualities. Grace and femininity can also be found in my mom’s frequent mannerisms. Though she doesn’t see herself as particularly nimble, she is just as graceful athletically as the rest of the family. She goes on a walk with the dog nearly everyday, hiking for as long as she and the dog are able. In addition to this display of agility, she also has shown endurance by running a half marathon a few years ago. With every issue she faces, she applies her seemingly endless wisdom. She’s always been able to come up with a creative approach to difficult situations. Even in the rare occasions where she ends up being wrong, she makes the effort to learn from those mistakes and apply the knowledge gained in later scenarios. My mom has also shown her intellect through her years in education. After completing her degree in mathematics, she was quickly accepted into medical school.
