Many people in today’s world don’t think about what they’re doing this afternoon or even what the next chapter in life holds for them. They simply go throughout their day, going through the same motions that were done the day before and even the year before. The world we live in is so hectic and fast, but doesn’t give many people the opportunity to stop and think about what’s happening around them. Or even the chance to tell loved ones or friends, thank you for the sacrifices they have made and make on a daily basis. Many sacrifices that people make, come without hesitation or thought, and yet some people consider themselves entitled to these sacrifices without showing any gratification or thanks. Judy Brady states “I want a wife who will take care of my physical needs” (Brady 280). Though Brady knows she will not marry a woman, she is using this statement to make a point about what she does for her husband. One of the main times was in the opening statement of her paper. Brady states “I belong to that classification of people known as wives. I am a wife. And, not altogether incidentally. I am a mother” (Brady 280). In this, she is referring to the fact that she has a lot of knowledge on not only being a wife but also a mother at the same time. Her credibility to this is altogether true, in that she is a wife and a mother. According to the paper, all of the things she has pointed out are things that she has either done, or what has been expected of her to do as a wife and mother. The fact that she is a mother and a wife all adds to her credibility for the arguments that she is making. If she wasn’t a mother, some of the statements in her paper would be irrelevant to the fact that she is stating things that mothers do, while not being a mother
