That’s the preacher’s wife! By Diane Singleton is a great book for women who are planning on marrying a preacher or already married to a preacher. This book is a great encouragement since it gives facts from the bible itself; nothing is greater than the bible itself. This book is a guide for preacher’s wives and family; different things occur in this book that actually take part in the preacher’s family all the time.
This book is a great inspiration for the women that are having doubts about going into the ministry or marrying a preacher. The book covers equipment to help us once we are in the ministry and new to a congregation, how we should adjust to moving and leaving everything behind. For instance, we as wives will sense we are so alone and have nobody to talk to you while our husband is at work. Another great lesson we learn in this book as wives is how to work together as a team with our husbands. “Where your treasure is, your heart is also” (15). This is a major subject, we absorb in this book that a preacher’s family is not rich and a preacher’s family is certainly the most watched, but ignored family there is in most of the occasions. And, we see the qualifications the preacher’s wife should have or develop in order to help her spouse and help her in situations that she may find herself. She must be a happy, outgoing, positive minded, caring and last but not least a loving person.
The author’s purpose in writing this book is to inform and help Christian wives but specifically preacher’s wives to deal with problems in a positive and godly way without lashing out in a worldly manner. ...rying to raise my sister who was little at the time. Everyone wanted to give my mom advice and tell her what she was doing wrong every Sunday and every Wednesday she would hear the same thing. They pushed her so far that she got tired of it and said to them respectfully, I like all the great advice all of you are giving me but I need to learn myself and I can manage I have a four year old and have done a great job but if I need help I WILL let you know. I believe this is a good way to handle these types of situations.
In conclusion, by following these helpful tips you will be successful in the ministry and be a better helper for your husband. Also by being a great team together with our husbands and taking time of trouble and seeing the best of it and adjusting to new locations we will serve God better and show our children that it is worth going into the ministry.
