Human trafficking is a violation of Human Rights in many ways. It occurs every waking minute in today’s world, from third world countries to the United States. This form of modern slavery happens when one person or group of people sells another to be used for labor or sex against their will. Stereotypically, most people believe human trafficking only involves young females, however it includes people of all ages, from both genders. One of the rights that human trafficking violates is the right that all humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights, and that all people are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood, which is article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. …show more content…

Holly Smith ,who once was taken advantage of at age 14 by a man she ran away with, says to the Richmond Justice Initiative, “ In reality, I ran right into the inexorable clutches of a sex trafficking ring.” This quote allows readers to see just how easy it is for the young people of America to be coaxed into situations that lead to human trafficking. Nimfa Rueda writes about a foreign woman who traveled to the US in search of a stable career, but instead got lured into the human labor trafficking industry and was forced to do back-breaking work for hours on end. She attempted to escape once, but was soon faced with the abuse of large men and her family in the Phillipines lives were also threatened.
