The novel Soraya the storyteller written by Rosanne Hawke is about a young Afghanistan girl who immigrated to Australia with her family and the difficulties that she faces along the way.This book shows us how her country is displaced because of the Taliban and has lost four individual from her family on the off chance that she loses more, this affected her life.In this story, Soraya and her family have been marginalised in certain ways, like Racism, Culture and more throughout the story.Marginalisation is when a person or a group of people is treated differently comparing others in a negative way or as inconsequential.To give detail Soraya been marginalised since the beginning of the first day of school, this demonstrate to us how important this issue is. Soraya and her family are hiding in the shadow with a temporary protection visa wanting to get a permanent visa. One way Soraya and her family was marginalised by racism comment.Many verbal assaults occurred in Soraya’s life in Australia.Racism happened in view of Soraya culture's and where she from, it began since the start of school,, “Out of the way, stupid wog”, (pg. 10) In the novel, it is written in the text “stupid wog” (pg. 10). Wog is depicted, as a person who is not white additionally as foreign immigrant, which is a racist term. Not just frightful comments are spilling out of kid’s mouth; Even guardians verbally underestimate Soraya to offend her, for instance, Ebony’s father spilled hateful comments out of his mouth. As an example, “Go home”, “Go back to the god – forsaken country you are from, you ugly little wog”, (pg.69). More evidence shown in page 69.
