Whether if we know it or not, we depend on globalization to keep every country connected with one another by using technology. While this is important, globalization can also have its negative effects. Not only in America, but in other countries the increase of slavery has become a global issue. In the video presentation, "The Global Mind: The Future of Globalization and Its Impact On Our World", the use of technology was being used from all over. Students used iPads during class in order to participate in their lessons, government leaders so that they could have a clear understanding where the economy stood for their country, and scientist used technology to be able to find different ways to improve living. This is a huge impact that globalization has on all of us. Although, globalization can have numerous of positive effects, globalization can also have negative effects. Whenever you think of slavery, it's common to think of slavery that happened over 50 years ago. Not too many people are aware that slavery still goes on today and it's a global issue that has an impact on us. People are being kidnapped and used as human trafficking. In the video presentation, "Where Does Slavery Exist?", GSI (Global State Index) estimated that 57,000- 63,000 are used as slaves. In Russia, 490,000-540,000 people are enslaved. Majority of these people are workers or immigrants within the area. Russia is ranked 49th under GSI which means there are 48th other countries who have a higher rank of enslaved individuals.
