What does the communist revolution in Russia have to do with a children's book? Animal Farm by George Orwell is a representation of the communist revolution and the communist struggle in a simple style. In George Orwell's Animal Farm Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin because Napoleon has a food tester, the purge on the farm, and the banning of Snowball. The first reason Napoleon relates to Joseph Stalin is when Napoleon has food tester check for poison. Napoleon hires a tester to check if his food is poisoned. Joseph Stalin has several people test his food for poison. This can be seen when Orwell writes " Pinkeye was given the task of tasting all his food before he ate it, lest it should be poisoned"(95).
