Fast Food Effects on American People In every movement we make, we use the energy from food that we consume daily. For this reason, food is extremely important. However, everything has both benefits and consequences, and there is no exception, not even food. Nowadays, fast food is becoming a big health issue around the world; it is not just in the U.S. Moreover, America is the country that gets the most effects. Our society has adopted fast food as its traditional food even though we know that it negatively effects on our health. Fast food is available almost everywhere at any time, day or night. We can find fast food anywhere in the United States. For example, fast food restaurants are on every corner of the street like in New York City and down town Los Angeles. Everybody knows about fast food, even young children because they have been exposed to it every day by the massive media: TV, posters, toys, t-shirts and others. Some parents even take their children with them to fast food restaurant every time they go. Every new advance in technology is built around being just a little faster and a little more connected. For example, a mother can drop her kids off at school, pay her bills online, contribute to her retirement account, schedule a meeting at work, respond to email through her Blackberry, call in a coffee order at Starbucks, return her Netflix movies, and squeeze in a yoga workout all before she actually gets to work. Where in this schedule is there time for her to cook a good quality meal? This continual need for speed has invaded all aspects of our lives, and has created an environment that is not conducive to traditional family meals.
