How were the Egyptian pyramids built ? Egyptian pyramids were built originally for the burial of the kings of the Pharaohs at the time. There were about 138 pyramids built in Egypt and the largest of the pyramids is the pyramid of Cheops in Giza, which is one of the seven ancient wonders, and since then mystery has surrounded on how the Egyptian pyramids were built. Scientists have long puzzled and stood helpless in front of the issue trying to uncover the secret of its construction. Some researches say that the pyramids were built of clay and heat, some others say that there may have been machinery, equipment and instruments hid we did not know about.
