Have you ever loved something so much that it’s hard for you to put it down or stop using it? Usually kids get something like toys for christmas or on their 5th birthday. Well when I turn 5 I got my first basketball, and boy was I happy. I would take it with me everywhere. Dribble it around the house, take it to school with me, I even slept with it at times, literally everywhere. I fell in love with it so much that I just couldn’t put it down. My parents eventually took notice and then sat down and had a serious talk with me that would help to shape the rest of my life and make me the person I am today.

It’s just apart of who I am and my competitive nature. I don’t care at all if you’re a friend of mine or a loved one and I'm playing against you, I am going for your head. I show no mercy, this game is my life. I take this approach whenever I am on the court simply because of the fact that no one else is going to get you a college scholarship, you have to go out and get it yourself. This requires hard work and dedication to the game. You can’t take ANY days off because the days that you chose to take off, someone else at the same time is working hard in the gym or in the weight room trying to get better. Even when you’re in the gym or weight room improving, you’ve gotta work as hard as you can. Because there is always someone in the world working as hard as you are. If they're not working as hard as you then they’re probably working even harder. I try to use the same approach in life as well.

The game of basketball can be applied to almost anything in life. For example, if you love the game like I do you’d have an amazing work ethic. You would want to take advantage of any opportunity given to get better at the game, right? Well this can also be applied to your school work and how hard you work on assignments. If you love to learn, or just love school in general then you would use all the time you’re given wisely. Finishing assignments for a class, studying for tests,
