Throughout history, there have been many cases of peaceful resistance in order to oppose a belief. Some people that did this are Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Mohandas Gandhi. All three of these people were involved in a situation where they disagreed with what was happening in the world around them and they all used nonviolent ways to get their points across. Civil disobedience positively impacts a free society in many ways. Gandhi is the universal face for peaceful resistance. He devoted much of his life to improving the world without any use of violence. He helped India fight for economic independence from Britain and did so by boycotting textiles from Britain. She refused for she felt she should not have to do this because she was just as tired as any white man or women was. The Police were eventually called and Rosa Parks was arrested. Parks then led a boycott, along with Martin Luther King Jr., against the bus service. All her life she was faced with discrimination. People treated her different all because of the color of her skin. Parks led the way for many more African Americans to speak up about how they felt and demand change. Thanks to Rosa Parks, and many other civil rights leaders, segregation was finally declared illegal.
In conclusion, all three of the peaceful resistance leaders described above, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Mohandas Gandhi used civil disobedience to aid their resistance movement. None of them ever wanted to use any sort of viloance and they all led their movements successfully. Each one of these people are a huge part of world history and are still remembered
