Darius Monroe robbed a bank in Stafford, Texas at gunpoint with two friends at gunpoint in 1997 at the age of sixteen due financially problems. He thought of robbing the bank and getting away with it would be a good idea of helping his parents old with money .Going into the movie and reading details about it, I was very excited to see what the movie was going to be about. I like watching movies like this and shows interested to show young black male mistakes they made when they was younger and how then they turned their life around. I believe class played a huge part in the reason why he made the choice to rob the bank and help his mother out with money because they were very unfortunate with his mother working two jobs to keep up with bills and provide food on the table.Therefore coming from a low income area it's a higher crime rate for robbery in the low income area especially for minorities. Coming from a poverty neighborhood with high crimes I kind of know the struggles he goes through seeing his mother go through so much pain trying to provide things for the family . Sometimes thinking what can I do to help my mom from struggling and stressing out it kind of brings you down just by seeing your mother go through that phase. Living in a low income poverty neighborhood can have a huge impact on your life and with your decision making. I say this because men are more capable of doing the extreme to provide for his family. As a young black male it's hard to see your mother struggle. Seeing her trying her best and ends still not meeting puts a hold you because there isn't much you can do. At the age of sixteen telling your mother you was going to rob sounded like a joke too her. So Darius and his two friends decided to skip school and go rob a small town
