When placed on earth, a person is born into the life they parents have started preparing for them. Many don’t get to choose their parents or the life they’re born into as we are told to make the best of the life that has been given. It takes patience and time for things to develop, for when that happens dreams and goals start to come true and play into action. You're starting point is never your ending point as things change over time as life is a journey. Never remember where you came from because it helps make you humble to be where you're going. The author Sandra Cisneros explains a story of a young child who is describing their life of being a part of a big family and living in a small living arrangement. “By the time we got to Mango Street we were six—Mama, Papa, Carlos, Kiki, my sister Nenny and me” (Cisneros). Having a large family is not always easy as the cost of living is very expensive, having many mouths to feed and backs to clothe and shoes as well. The main character of House on Mango Street is about a teenager starting to understand things in life such as growth and relocation. “We didn’t always live on Mango Street. Before that we lived on Loomis on the third floor, and before that we lived on Keeler. Before Keeler it was Paulina, and before that I can’t remember” (Cisneros).
