Homelessness in Canada Homelessness is a significant topic that Canada has been dealing with for decades. People who are homelessness all are homeless due to many different circumstances. Canada’s government has been working with an ongoing investigation to end homeliness.

TYPES OF HOMELESSNESS
Homelessness in Canada has been growing since the 80s doubling every decade. Currently in Canada there is 30,000 homeless people a night. In total per year 200,000 Canadians experience homelessness every year. Usually when people think of homelessness they think of someone living in the streets. 7 billion dollars was invested into homelessness in 2013 total. This goes into running shelters, providing social services and health care. Currently there is long going investments in affordable housing to keep homeless at a minimum. Housing and shelters have become the key aspect to reducing homelessness in Canada. A lot of times shelters aren't always being used for the homeless but people who are runaways will use them. Canada’s government made more strict policies to who they let into shelters to resolve that issue. Various homeless strategies have been applied to many provinces across Canada. These include Alberta, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario and Quebec. The provinces all do things differently to help the homeless. Alberta announced a 10 year plan to end homelessness and have seen a 16% reduction in homelessness since the start. The government uses tax money to create homeless shelters. So if they reduce tax, it will make it harder to create more shelters for the homeless.
