In J. D Salinger's The Catcher In The Rye, the reader can understand and witness Holden's problems that need to be solved. Throughout the novel, Holden has confronted many problems that are difficult to face. One of the main problems is that he can’t bridge the gap between adolescence and adulthood. He also has had problems with his love life and his own life because of the decisions he is making. Ultimately, while Holden is in school it can be seen that he is failing all his subjects except English. The best solutions for Holden is to increase his partnership and trust with his parents and to pass his school life with a minimum grade of at least a C or a B. And another solution he should be avoiding is alcohol, drugs, etc. because it can lead to a heavy life full of depressions and full of problems. …show more content…

Holden Caulfield has been kicked out of Pencey Prep as you find out in the beginning of the novel, Holden Caulfield has been failing all classes except English, he admits that he is passing English but not his other subjects such as History, his result after confronting his teacher was to leave Pencey Prep. When he left Pencey Prep he was scared of confronting his parents so instead of going back home he ran away to another place. If Holden never wants to repeat this he needs to do is apply to another school, because when he applies to another school he will have a second chance to pass all of his classes and study to apply for a scholarship and start his college years. But before applying school he should be confronting his parents first, to gain their trust and to tell them the truth and tell them that he will do better in future to make them
