Every teen has challenges they face every day. After reading the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, these habits to be proactive and to synergize can be very beneficial to teens everyday. Synergize is to be helpful and work with people. To be proactive is to have control of your self. These two habits are the most beneficial to teens in there daily life's. I believe Habit 1: Being Proactive is very beneficial to teens. To be proactive is to be in control of your life, and do not let anyone peer pressure you in to doing things that are not smart, illegal, or bad. Synergize is to work with some one to get a better solution and it's a mutual agreement. If you use synergize in your daily life, your daily life will be easier. Teenagers don't like working together they think they can do everything on there own, but don't get me wrong there are some teenagers that will work with someone and get the work done no problem. "No part is more important than the other, just different" (Covey 183). In other words it's saying nothing is more important than another it's just different. The way I implemented habit 1: was when my brother and I were in the car arguing and I remembered in the book it said"Use proactive language not reactive", so instead of yelling I was the bigger person and ignored him and I was calm about it. I learned being proactive is a way healthier way of living. In addition I implemented habit 6: my dad and I went to NC to buy me a four-wheeler and on the way home we had to come up with a mutual solution to get it out of the truck, so my dad and I came up with a solution that we both agreed on.
