Recommended: Goal setting
This year I officially entered a new life. I entered high school. On the first day I was terrified because I thought it was going to be horrible. I was wrong. High School isn't what you see in the movies, it is a new beginning to start fresh. You might lose friends, but you shouldn't be worried about that. Focus on your schoolwork because if you dont it isnt going to go very well. In the first place, I want to accomplish so many goals in my high school life. High school isn't like elementary school. You have to work for your goals, they aren't just handed to you. A goal is the result or achievement toward which effort is directed. When you set goals for yourself, it is important that they motivate you. It has to be meaningful. My goals mean a lot to me. My goals are to graduate high school, be in student government, make good choices, and to make my parents proud. Those are realistic goals that I would do the impossible to accomplish. …show more content…
Your friends from elementary might not be your friends for the rest of your life. People change and they act like they are better than you or other people.Every friendship has a different trajectory based on a unique mix of personalities and the past. One day you could be good friends and the next day she/he act like they don't know you. When a serious problem does crop up in a friendship, it's usually unexpected, disappointing and very uncomfortable to deal with. You and your friend were attached and now have nothing to say to each other. People change and that's okay. You will make new
The goals I want to achieve this year is to stay in school and to do my work so I can get enough credits to graduate on time. Another goal I have is to save up money and stay working instead of calling in all the time. I'm gonna try my best to follow all my rules I have for probation and to stay out of jail. I feel I can do all these things if I put my mind to it, I been going to school and work everyday I've had to so far. Something I taught myself is how to Bmx bike and do tricks on them.
Such experiences include “children, marriage, aging, death, birth, college” (West & Turner, 2016). With the lessons learned with friendships earned and lost over the duration of childhood, there may be some hesitancy on having a person becoming a potential friend in the future. People take things slow, take more time to know the person to determine if this will be either a meaningful friendship that would benefit both people or if it will be just a type of friendship which is just acquaintances and nothing more. There will be at times when that relationship will seem to wane or known as “Waning friendship…friendship intimacy bonds begin to decay; friends spend less and less time together” (West & Turner, 2016). This can happen for a number of reasons such as growing apart, different points of life for two individuals, and loss of interest. As adults, we have essentially categorized ourselves into business professional, student, relaxed, church, etc. Sometimes certain connections to certain circles don’t overlap with others because of the vast differences between them. It is perfectly normal to have casual friendships that don’t require constant meet-ups while other friendships are much closer and intimate because of a familiar
Changes in friends happen to everybody for different reasons. This is evident when looking at the way physical separation between people leads to a weakening in friendship and then an end in friendship all together as time continues. While keeping in touch with a few people is natural, moving or a change in setting will cause an end in friendship because new people will replace old friends from the previous setting and a place’s social environment may change that friend into someone completely new.
In my high school career, I want to have a high GPA, Honors/AP courses in english and history, and be valedictorian. A high GPA is my main goal, it is important for my other two goals. Having AP/Honors courses would not only help me be a better student, but also help my GPA because they’re weighted. Valedictorian is my most challenging goal, but my most desired as well. Having smart high school goals give a head start in college and in life.
Friends will not get you far in life, you will. so, I began to fall in love with school and fell back from hanging out. I never wanted to feel that feeling I felt when I read that letter and saw my grades again. I wanted the graduate high school and make something out of myself . I moved in 8th grade to come to my hometown in Georgetown, SC and have a fresh start.
Goals are what helps us move forward in life, the beginning of every journey we start and the vision of the end. Simple Definition of goal on Meriam Webster is "something that you are trying to do or achieve". Establishing goals provide us with short-term motivation and a long-term vision. It also helps us focus on acquiring knowledge and organize our resources and time so we can obtain the best of life. Grasping the importance and significance of goal-setting and applying the attained knowledge in life is also satisfying.
As the months went on in high school, I began to notice the friends I once had, started to leave me for some
At that moment I was sure that I wanted out of this friendship. After that I did my best to drift from her, but she has this habit of sending big blocks of text when she thinks she did something wrong. On the first day of senior year, she sends me this big paragraph about how she was sick of trying to “pull this friendship along” and how I made her feel horrible. She told me that she quit theatre and switched out of the class I was in because she didn’t want to be around me.
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
I was starting ninth grade, and all of my friends were suddenly all splitting up and going down different paths. Some of those friends didn’t necessarily go down bad paths; they just simply weren’t paths that I would enjoy going down. Others, though, began high school at full force, spending their weekends at parties drinking and smoking. The friends I had for the past eight years of my life suddenly weren’t friends I wanted to have in my life anymore. At first I wasn’t exactly sure what to do about it.
Some of your successes may be personal triumph and some may be physical triumph, but for me, my success lies in academics. This may make me a nerd, but it stands for something that I enjoy and something that people claim I am good at. When I was first born, my parents knew that there was something wrong with me, as my head had been deformed and shortly later, doctors realized that my skull was not growing. Lucky for me, one of the best cranio-surgeons in the country was located in the area where I was born.
Most people set goals in their first year of high school, by the time that they graduate they should have a clear understanding of what they want to accomplish in life. Developing a goal is to visualize and plan ahead of what you're setting yourself for the future. However, there will be times that they tend to not be able to commit to those plans or they may have encounter some difficulties visualizing their schedules. As a result, it became unorganized and it leads to procrastination. My goals for these two months are to subdue stress, care for my physical well being, and to get involved in the work field.
This day in time friendship is not the same. They often changes as we go in adulthood. Friendship is a unique type of relationship. Unlike family, we chose to be in a friendship. You can go months without speaking to a friend, however, we may want to but we can’t do the same for our children or family.
7th grade passed quickly, and we stayed close friends. In the 8th grade, however, things began to change. She got her first boyfriend before I did, and that seemed to put her into the mindset that she was better than me. As she went through multiple boyfriends, it became obvious that she thought she was above me. But, silly me, I ignored it, for the want of a friend was great.
Friendships change often, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. I’ve learned that there are two types of friends in life: the kind that when you go away for a while and return, it feels like you never even left at all because you pick up right where you left off; and the kind that when you go away for a while and come back, it feels like everything has changed. At times I find myself with a friend, who I have had a long and meaningful relationship with but is not particularly someone I can stand or enjoy being around anymore. Maybe it’s because they have changed or perhaps I have changed, and what used to make our friendship work like clockwork, is no longer there.
