Recommended: An overview of ford motor company

Cars today are based on the processes that Henry Ford developed. Car companies can thank Henry Ford for making a process to make cars affordable to the public and not just wealthy people (Eyewitness to History). Revolutionary processes made Henry Ford and his company, the Ford Motor Company, so successful.
Henry Ford was born near Dearborn, MI in 1863 (History). His parents, William Ford and Mary Litogot Ford, had five children (The Famous People). His parents were not expecting Henry Ford to learn so quickly and leave to start a career as fast as he did. Henry Ford left his parents at the age of 16 to pursue a machining career (Biography). This led him to become the founder of one of the most successful automobile companies in the world.

At the same time he introduced the “$-per-day” wages as a method to keep loyal workers at his company (Biography). He eventually implemented this assembly line into his company. As a result of the efficient production, he was able to sell his automobiles at a much cheaper price (Entrepreneur). For example, the Model T, usually taking twelve and a half hours to make now took less than six hours (Eyewitness to History). A similar process is still used today in much more than just car companies.
Henry Ford, in 1919, bought out the stockholders in the Ford Motor Company (Entrepreneur). This allowed Ford to completely use the power of the company and later earned himself the Franklin Institute’s Elliot Cresson Medal (The Famous People). He earned this after he faced the issue of the turnover rate at his company became such a problem that he had to hire close to one thousand workers for every one hundred jobs he wanted to fill (Entrepreneur). In 1918 he made a bid for a United States Senate seat (History). This attempt failed due to personal attack towards him by his opponent. This ended the dream for Henry Ford and he no longer yearned for a place of political power. However, he later published some anti-semantics articles which were later compiled into a set called “The International Jew” (History).
When Henry Ford finally stepped down from the presidency at the Ford Motor Company, he intrusted his son, Edsel Ford, to lead the company (History). However, in 1943 Edsel Ford died and Henry Ford had to take control of the company once again (History). After overseeing the company for one last time, Henry Ford turned the company over to his grandson, Henry Ford II (History). Henry Ford had wanted to continue leading the company into the future, but due to old age he could no longer keep up with the demand of the company.
Henry Ford had returned to his home in Dearborn, MI, after realizing that he did not have much longer to live (History). He died on April 7th, 1947 at the age of 83 (History). It was later made known that the cause of his untimely demise was a cerebral hemorrhage (History). He would be remembered as the father of the modern assembly line and the producer of the first commercially affordable

Although he occasionally came back to visit Dearborn, he mostly stayed in Detroit, picking up more and more valuable knowledge. This apprenticeship allowed him to work in the factories of Detroit and learn what a hard working blue-collar job was like. When he did return to Dearborn he was always tearing apart and rebuilding his fathers machines, along with the dreaded farm chores. Henry Ford was a hard worker and that was proven by him getting fired from one of his jobs in Detroit because the older employees we’re mad at him because he was finishing his repairs in a half hour rather than the usual five hours. Clara Bryant would represent the next step in now twenty-five year old Henry Ford’s life. The two lovers we’re married in 1888 and would endure good times as well as bad. In order to support his new wife Henry was forced to work the land as he ran a sawmill that was given to him by his father. His father actually attempted to bribe Henry to stay in the farming business as he gave him the land only under the condition that he would continue on as a farmer.
