CARE International is one of the world’s leading humanitarian agencies that work to help people in their social and economic achievements. Its roles address the issues of food and nutrition security, water, sanitation and hygiene, women and girl’s economic empowerment, health, and emergency and humanitarian assistance. They currently carry out major projects in refugee’s assistance, health, water and sanitation, financial inclusion, adaptation to climate change, disaster risk reduction, agricultural value chains and humanitarian/emergency response with an average annual budget of approximately US $ 35 million. CARE International commenced its humanitarian program in Kenya in 1968. Since then they built a substantial development and humanitarian program, targeting around 1 million people in Kenya annually. CARE is a major partner of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and world food program (WFP), for water, hygiene, food distribution and formal education in the refugee camps in Dadaab near the Kenya-Somali border. CARE is currently present in 17 counties directly and 23 counties indirectly through Global Fund partners. Afghanistan is a country in war and a country in devastation. Afghanistan has one of the world’s highest infant mortality rates and the world’s highest birth rates. Because of the high infant mortality rates, they also have many problems in health, sanitation, and a lack of food they have. Because of poor health and sanitation in the country of Afghanistan, the Afghanis have many sicknesses and diseases. Sickness causes high infant mortality rates. The diseases that cause high death rates are bacterial and protozoal diarrhea, hepatitis A, typhoid fever, malaria, and rabies (Demographics 2013). Because the mothers do not have enough nutrition when giving birth to the infants, many of the mothers die in childbirth. And because of the two decades of war, the war also left many people especially children homeless. As a result, there are children on the streets of Afghanistan without a families and shelter. What should the United Nations do to help Afghanistan? To help Afghanistan, the United Nations should assist Afghanistan with food and health problems to help reduce the high morality and birth rates so Afghanistan could start moving towards the third demographic transition.
This report has been written to explore what the context of healthy communities is. The defined community will be introduced and a geographical map included. Gathered information of the specified community will be evaluated, data’s and statistics will be presented in tables. The focus will be on the health and social care needs of that community. Viewpoints of the residents of the chosen community will be summarized and discussed. Recommendation about observed issues will be implemented. Furthermore, theories and sociological aspects of diverse authors regarding notion communities will be included as they can support the findings.
D1: I have decided to look at a 6 year old going through bereavement. Bereavement means to lose an individual very close to you. When children go through bereavement they are most likely to feel sad and upset about the person’s death. Children at a young age may not understand when a family member dies. Children may not understand bereavement. For example a 6 year old’s father been in a car crash and has died from that incident. Death is unpredictable and children can’t be prepared for a death of a family member as no one knows when someone is going to die or not. Unfortunately every child can experience bereavement even when a pet dies. It is important that we are aware that effects on the child so we can support them in the aftermath.
What does ‘care’ mean? Care is the provision of what is necessary for your health, welfare and protection of someone or something. However when you talk about ‘care’ in a care practice the term changes and becomes more about enabling people to meet all their needs which would refer to their social, physical, emotional, cognitive and cultural needs. The individual is central to the meaning of care in this context.
Partnering with the organization is important because it also trains mental health professionals to provide mental care to rural communities in Kenya. Third, Intra Health International was chosen because of their ongoing work in Kenya and their mission to ensure health workers are trained and supported to perform their jobs. On the other hand, social care services refer to the services aiming at providing personal care and social uplifting of the less privileged individuals. These groups that qualify for the social care services include children, people with disabilities, old age, and those suffering from illness and poverty. There are numerous public health problems that can be addressed in my Southside of Chicago community. Among the several public health problems facing my Southside of Chicago community there are two that are more urgent. Health education or one might say lack thereof is a problem that needs to be addressed. My community is plagued with many of the residents suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, and the killer virus known as HIV. In most cases these conditions can be prevented with healthier lifestyles and access to nutritious organic foods. In addition, environmental health is another urgent problem my community is facing. Access to clean, safe water and air is supposed to be a fundamental human right aimed at a healthy environment. Yet, my community consists a waste contaminated beach, numerous deteriorated building that are still occupied, and a countless number of restaurant and stores supplying our residents with services that are endangering their health.

Global health refers to the health of all people in the world which concerns about the health issues that go beyond the borders of each country due to the globalization ( Dyar & Costa, 2013).
