These extremist would see any other religions wiped off the face of the planet because they do not believe in the Islamic faith. Not all Muslims think like this, but because people have taken in the idea that all Muslims think like this people think that they all have bad intentions in their minds. The solution to this problem is that the people of the United States need to stop blaming the average Muslim person for what happened. It is not the everyday Muslim who bombed the twin towers. It was the Muslim Extremist group of Al-Qaeda.
Their hatred is demonstrated by marching in white cloaks in protest and also by burning the churches and neighborhoods of blacks. Just as Hitler and the KKK express hatred, the Skinheads are yet another group which have strong prejudices. These so called Skinheads abominate most races other than their own. White hooded silhouettes, German Soldiers echoing “Hail Hitler!”, and the infamous Skinheads are harsh reminders of hatred which exists throughout the world. In the same way that prejudices of large groups of people are expressed, hate crimes are committed to demonstrate acts of hatred.
Her reaction to Skeeter’s confession shows how people of the society hate changes in their lives. When Skeeter tries to do something out of the ordinary, people of the society try to stop her as they want their society to stay the same. To keep the society unchanged, white people restrict everyone from doing anything that is not considered normal. Stockett also uses homophobia to show how people who were different from others were oppressed by the society. Homosexuality was considered taboo in the 1960s and to keep it that way, any homosexual was treated harshly by the society (Reti).
Cyberbullying must be considered a criminal offense since it’s a form of harassment and a long lasting event, high staking percentages of students are being bullied and are not getting justice and in most cases it eventually leads to suicide. Although many people believe Cyberbullying should be a criminal offense, there are also others that consider it just as standard as someone dying in a car accident or being murdered. Many opposing parties also say there is no assurance that the people bullying are intentionally trying to harm anyone but rather make a joke out of everything. However, most critics don’t look into the entire problem and they judge a book by its cover. Sometimes, those who are bullied... ... middle of paper ... ...ith cyber bullying (do something).
Incarcerating Kids Destroys American Society Humans all make mistakes, it is a part of life that no one can avoid. However, young adults are more likely than the older generations to make bad decisions and take part in things that they may someday regret. Some people say that making mistakes is just a part of growing up. But what if just one wrong decision could mean the difference between a normal childhood and spending the rest of adolesence behind cold steel bars with cruel and vicious adult criminals? Unfortunately for a growing number of young teenagers, their reality is never being given a second chance to change or correct their mistakes.
Parents targeted the music as main cause and prohibited their children from watching certain videos and listening to some songs mostly because they believed these songs were too suggestive and would corrupt the teenage mind. Before the World War II, teenagers were forced to take life seriously. Even without rock and roll, these sociological shifts would have happened (Glenn 106). Youth began to seek out values and a culture of their own while simultaneously rejecting their parents’ values and ideologies.
By reading the principal’s speech, Richard was saying what the white power wanted him to say and to Richard this would be giving in to the very thing he hated so much. Richard was willing to leave school without a diploma instead of this. White people alienated Richard from his environment because he did not accept the way of life that other black people did. Richard’s relatives never understood Richard and because of this he was alienated from his family and his own people. Shorty is the young black boy who gets beat by the white people and jokes about it.
On the story of Eduardo Corona I learned that A lot of people that grow up in a bad environment start to join gangs and start selling drugs to get lots of money. Only because they don’t want to be poor no more, or some people just grow up being influenced by family members or friends. Many people sometimes just want to fit in and try to be cool so people can respect them. But then again some people don’t want to be in gangs other gangs just make them join and if they don’t join they will kill their family or just kill them. Many people just think that gang members are horrible people but they never really think why they start off to being gang members.
Some of the KKK groups say they love but do not hate, yet they hate gays, bi-racial relationships, and we will be dammed to hell if we practice in such behaviors. They practice in what they believe in and that is making whites the superior race and although in the eyes of millions of Americans, it is wrong because we are supposed to accept everyone as they are. Regrettably, they believe only whites should exist, which sadly is protected in their constitutional rights of freedom of speech and expression.
We as a nation cannot live in fear because a group of horrible individuals completed a devastating act. These acts may have shaken us as a nation but it should not break us completely and cause us to treat innocent people unfairly and without respect. Just recently I wa... ... middle of paper ... ...ing to show officers his driver's license, is only one case among many. Unfortunately there are too many to even count and this must change. Finally, we as a nation need to educate ourselves in the reality of the effects that racial profiling can have on individuals and keep in mind what is taught to us as young children that we cannot judge a book by its cover.
