Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, or as it’s known everywhere other than America, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is the first installment in what many would call, the greatest book series of our generation. It is a great book that opens up your imagination, and is exciting to read. Therefore, I would recommend this novel, not only to my fellow peers, but to everybody. Because with a book like this, it’s hard to find something that you don’t like about it.

It’s a novel that has a little bit of everything for everybody. The only reason I didn’t give the it a 10/10 is because it’s hard to nail down who the main characters are (even though I would argue that with so many great characters, there really doesn’t need to be a main character), and there are some sexual scenes in the novel I found to be semi-unnecessary, which might make some people dislike the whole story. However, I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who want a genuinely fantastic story to read, people interested in a novel full of vibrant, realistic, and sometimes flawed (in a good way) characters, or anyone with some time to kill for long stretches, because they won’t want to put this book
Over the course of this summer I read four books. The books I read were Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J K Rowling, The Giver by Lois Lowry, Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix, and Number the Stars by Lois Lowry again. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J K Rowling was the first book I read this summer and I really liked it. I decided to read the 5th Harry Potter book because I had it and I never really got a chance to read it. The book begins were it had left you of in the 4th book when Harry is just about to enter his 5th year at Hogwarts. He still lives with his aunt and uncle whom he hates because they are mean and evil to him. The letters from his friends are very dull and they have nothing to say, which confuses him and makes him furious. He is also mad because he’s still stuck with the Dursleys all summer long. The story goes with his adventures and challenges throughout his 5th year. The genre is fantasy complete with magic. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes the Harry Potter books. I would also recommend that if you have never read any of the previous books you start from the beginning. I can’t wait ‘till the next book comes out!
This month I read the book Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer. I loved this book because of its good, well-built characters, and twisting plot. This book would appeal to most preteens because the main character is a teen supergenius, and is young enough to believe in magic, but old enough to understand how it works. I would recommend this book because of its crazy events and weird twists. Out of five stars, I would give this book four stars, because of the good characters and plot, but also because it has a lot of humor in it.

I chose this book because I read the first two books of the series but I never had the time to read the third. Also, my sister has read the entire series and told me that this book was her favorite. When I was reading the book, it completely exceeded my expectations. The descriptive language was phenomenal, and the story line kept me wanting to read more. I would definitely recommend this book to most age groups and to people who are interested in books about action and adventure. I do not particularly love reading, but this book has made me think that I've just been reading the wrong genre of books. This book is filled with adventure, action and mystery and the characters are relatable, interesting and fun. As I was reading the book, I developed attachments to each and every character, but most of all, Sirius Black. He was put in jail and the entire time I thought he was a mad man hunting Harry down for Voldemort when this was really a misunderstanding. One thing that confused me was when Sirius broke into Gryffindor and Ron woke up seeing Sirius standing over him with a knife. When Ron screamed, Sirius escaped. But the entire book, I was wondering, considering the fact that Harry and Ron shared a bedroom, why Sirius Black would be trying to kill Ron when Harry was right there? It lets children and young adults go into a fantasy world that involves around wizards, witches, and magic. This series gets children to start to read at a young age. I believe this series is deeply more because it can show what morally side path you want to go down life. This series of books show how the morally good people would act in a crisis and not in crisis. For example, Mrs. Weasley in books and movies series her character was the loving mother who loved everyone basically. But at the end of the books and movies, when she in a crisis situation with Bellatrix Lestrange, who is trying to kill her daughter. Mrs. Weasley puts down that friendly loving look and goes after Bellatrix. They battled until Bellatrix’s death. It was the first time we saw this character not in loving, happily mood. Her morals changed when she saw that her daughter was in danger. This series also teaches us how to break the rules. Even though breaking the rules is morally wrong, but in some cases breaking the rules is good for people. Its shows how even fictional characters are not perfect in a make-up world. But it does show heroic and virtuous character moments that don’t need a perfect character. This imagination by J.K. Rowling is truly impressive because she appeals to our heads and our hearts with her writing according to Philosopher Martha Nussbaum. She means that the way she wrote some of her characters and the scenes they are in they touches our self in different place like our head and hearts. This book also gives young children and adults to explore their imagination that could lead us to the next Harry Potter
I gave this book this rating because of reasons like character reactions, character development, if the book could keep me on the edge of my seat, things that I think were unnecessary to mention, plot, and how excited the book made me for the next book.

Though the readers love Rowling’s intricate and exciting story lines, many controversies have arisen from these stories, not only in the United States, but also in various countries around the world. Perhaps the biggest controversy is the religious implications perceived by some critics. Although these critics believe that the series promotes paganism and encourages evil actions, these theories should not be taken so seriously.

the bad. The main characters on the good side are Harry Potter and his two friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and on the bad the main character is Lord Voldomort. Harry Potter is a courageous, brave, and kind person. The whole series revolves around Harry Potter and Lord Voldomort. Ron Weasley is Harry’s closest friend and is not always the brightest but he is a good person who always stands with Harry no matter the situation. Hermione Granger is a book worm, straight A student who turns every assignment in on time and always does whatever her teachers tell her to do, and because of her skill and knowledge she has helped the trio out of several tight situations. Lord Voldomort is the most evil of the evil. His goal is to rule the world, kill every muggle (non magical people) so that only wizards are left and, most importantly, to conquer death. Through out the entire series Voldomort has tried to kill Harry a total of eight times but has failed all because of his short-sightedness and un-willingness to admit to his weaknesses.
