I gave this book this rating because of reasons like character reactions, character development, if the book could keep me on the edge of my seat, things that I think were unnecessary to mention, plot, and how excited the book made me for the next book. Tom Clancy does character development in a very realistic way, and he uses backstory to justify the characters’ reactions, for example, Jack when he was fighting the terrorist he did not kill he tried to disable them he's a marine which goes against most of his training but he says that he did this because his dad was a cop and that's why he says that he only wanted to keep him from coming after him when he was dealing with all the Terrace. This book will appeal to anyone who loves a lot of adventure and a lot of suspense. The author continuously adds suspense throughout the book. One example of this would be when Thomas says, “Thomas had to trust Newt. He had to do this for his friend, but curiosity burned inside him like a brushfire. He knew, though, that he had no time to waste. They had to get everyone out of the WICKED complex. He could talk to Newt more in the Berg—if they could get to the hangar and convince Jorge to help them.” This shows suspense because the reader is trying to figure out what Newt is not telling Thomas. This also builds suspense in the reader because they are trying to figure out why they have leave in such a hurry. The author also tries to convey a lot of adventure throughout book. One time when Thomas and the others experienced danger would be when, “He shifted again, looked back over his shoulder. Minho and Newt were each straddling a guard, beating the living klunk out of them. Jorge stood in between the Gladers, shooting his fiery Launcher in all directions.”. This shows a lot of adventure because its so exciting and so much is going on. It also shows a lot of adventure because Thomas and the others are all going through such a hazardous situation which is sure to bring the reader to the edge of their seat. Martin Blumesfield's writing of this book is a very interesting book. His way of writing really gets the point across and makes you think like you there. He uses many rhetoric devices to enhance his writing and get what he's trying to do. He uses many similes and figurative language to back up his point of him being there. He has many of Patton's paper and he actually can relate to whats going on through his interpretation of the "Patton Papers." Many say this is the greatest Patton book out there and I agree. The way Blumesfield makes you feel is so real, you can appreciate a good writer when you find one like Blumesfield.
Abrams chose to create his movie helped to convey the overall theme. The most obvious technical choice that the director made was the color pallette his used throughout the entire movie. Abrams kept the colors mostly muted and somber, except for the explosions. This kept the film on the more serious side. If he chose to use brighter colors and had the characters wear more flamboyant clothes, the film would take on a completely different tone. It may be seen as more campy or directed towards a younger audience. Darkness and darker tones also typically convey a feeling of mystery, which goes along with the theme of hidden secrets. Abrams, in order to keep the audience in suspense and further the secrets he chose to hide information till the end. For example, he didn’t fully expose the monster till the very end of the movie. He gave little glimpses, providing suggestible minds with the horrors of what this thing was and what it looked like, but never allowing it to be shown. The other major theme, of challenging authority, is conveyed at first through his choice of having the main characters mostly be adolescents. Their age group as the connotation of rebellion, especially since they are on the brink of becoming teenagers. My overall opinion of this book is good I really liked it and recommend it to anyone. It is a good book to read and it keep you interested throughout the whole book.
I think my favorite thing about this novel was the realistic ending. Some books try to just give you a fairy tale but this book had an ending that mad you think in the end if I was in the same position would I do the same thing. I didn’t like the fact that the novel portrayed mental illness in a way to say that it needed to be hidden and protected. The style of the book is what made it so special. It was VERY easy to understand, and at the same time it was exciting. Some readers may think a tragic, but yet romantic novel is hard to understand, but what they don’t know is that all books are easy to read. You are just stopping yourself too soon to learn it. This book had no problems with being beautifully written and understandable.

I really liked this book because of the stories it had in it, that really helped me understand how bad these times really were, and how the treatment was horrible. I read a lot of how strict they were which was a part of my essay.
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Well it’s confusing to me and it’s like the most weirdest book I have ever read. ...s were so long. I was just about sick of cod after I was only half way through the chapter. I feel like Greenberg could have done a better job of separating the book and make it more readable. While I really enjoyed Greenberg’s opening personal story, I did not see its purpose by the end of the book since he did not tell any more in-depth personal stories. For me personally, I did not really enjoy this book. I would not read it again.
Ever since J.K. Rowling first introduced Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 1997, children and adults have read and loved the series. It has gained such popularity that all of the books have been made into major motion pictures, and a Harry Potter attraction has been opened in Universal Studios, Florida. Though the readers love Rowling’s intricate and exciting story lines, many controversies have arisen from these stories, not only in the United States, but also in various countries around the world. Perhaps the biggest controversy is the religious implications perceived by some critics. Although these critics believe that the series promotes paganism and encourages evil actions, these theories should not be taken so seriously.
The book and the movie were both very good. The book took time to explain things like setting, people’s emotions, people’s traits, and important background information. There was no time for these explanations the movie. The book, however, had parts in the beginning where some readers could become flustered.
series for two reasons. The first reason is because it ties up all the questions I had from the other books. This book really was a good ending, for me at least. And the second reason is because it’s just a great book. It has mystery, suspense, humor, action and many more things that keep you from putting the book down. On a scale of one to ten I would rate this ten and it is also my number one favorite book (so far).
