The Underground Railroad, a vast network of people who helped fugitive slaves escape to North and to Canada, was not run by any single organization or person. As we all know Harriet Tubman help free slaves but at the age of 25 she got married to a man named John Tubman, he was a free african american who didn’t share her dream , and since she was a slave she knew there was a chance of her being sold and her marriage would be split apart. Harriet had a dream of traveling North to be free and not have to worry about her marriage split by the slave trade, but John said he was fine where he was and he didn’t want her to go North. Harriet said she’d go by herself and she did. Harriet received a piece of paper from a white abolitionist
