Halloween Should Be Allowed In Schools

A well-known holiday in America is Halloween, which is celebrated on the 31st of October. However, I have been criticized due to the fact that I do not permit my children or myself to participate in any kind of traditional events or activities that occurs on this day because of my beliefs. I respect others participating in Halloween activities but, I will stay firm to what I believe and keep my family out of any kind of Halloween traditional activities every year. Most Americans celebrate Halloween as part of their traditional culture to the extent of having Halloween dress-up day, parties and Halloween activities in most school. In my town, the school defines Halloween as “Fall Festival” trying to mask the Holiday in school towards those that do not participate in these events. However, there is also trick or treating and the end of the night around 5 p.m. is regularly when the town that I live in starts trick-or-treating. Halloween is a traditional holiday that is part of our culture and has been around for centuries. However, there are people that decide not to celebrate Halloween, including me. Working in school districts and working with children is when I sometimes have to participate some way such as taking pictures for the bulleting’s. At the end of the day, I do feel the unease of this brief participation and taking pictures of children giving them the sense that I enjoy this and seeing them happy. Other than that, I do stand up for my beliefs whether I am in the streets or in a store and come across any Halloween activities or materials. However, I will not go as far such as telling people they are going to hell for doing this behavior, instead if they knock on my doorstep this day I will not open the door.
