The Great Wall of China is 21,196 kilometers long or 13,171 miles long. One of the biggest relics is the Ming Dynasty Great Wall: its length is 8,851 kilometers or 5,500 miles long. The original great wall was built from 770-476 BC. The wall that was built in 770-476 BC is not the wall that is standing today. The wall that is standing today is the wall that was built in 206 BC. The emperor of China during the building of the great wall was Qin Shi Huangdi. The great wall was built during the Qin Dynasty.
The emperor during the Qin Dynasty was Qin Shi Huangdi. During the Han Dynasty emperor Han Wudi reigned. The Han Dynasty was from 141-87 BC. Between about 130 and 110 BC the Han ruling court started winning major battles. They conquered Xiongnu …show more content…

In 214 the first emperor sent General Meng Tian to lead a big army of about one hundred thousand men to the north to drive them back. He succeeded in driving them back across a broad area. People think that the emperor Qin Shi Huang built the wall, some people believe that it was smaller countries that built the wall, and some people believe that slaves were forced to build the wall under Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s control. Overall it was not easy to build the wall, whoever made the wall it took them approximately 20 years to build the original great wall. After they built the original wall they extended the wall. It took them about 200 years to build the one that is standing today. Some people wonder if the emperor was part of the making of the great wall. It is a good question and I think that you will find it surprising that he did not help build the great wall. It was his idea to build the great wall though. It was the individual states that made up the great wall. So what do you think? Do you think that China’s great wall was created to protect the emperor from attacks and invasion? Some other interesting facts are, that 1/3 of the great wall has been destroyed without any trace as to who did it.
