A Great Economist President. In my perspective Franklin Roosevelt was the one of the best economist president we've had. He managed to get many Americans out of the Great Depression. He created many programs and jobs to get the people working. Through his wise knowledge many programs helped every American get money for sir families. World War Two really made his presidency last a long time of three terms, because of the war many factories were put into action and helped many have a stable job. Many women were the ones working f or America since men were being enlisted to the war. Franking Roosevelt had so many ideas to make America better, his ideas motivated others to keep on electing him, and that's what we need right now. We need a president
Assuming the Presidency at the depth of the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt helped the American people regain faith in themselves. He brought hope as he promised prompt, vigorous action, and asserted in his Inaugural Address, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Despite an attack of poliomyelitis, which paralyzed his legs in 1921, he was a charismatic optimist whose confidence helped sustain the American people during the strains of economic crisis and world war.
The traditional view of Franklin D. Roosevelt is that he motivated and helped the United States during the “Great Depression” and was a great president, however, as time has passed, economist historians have begun analyzing Roosevelt’s presidency. Many have concluded that he did not help America during the Great Depression but instead amplified and prolonged the depression. Jim Powell wrote about FDR economic policies and did an excellent job explaining Roosevelt’s incompetent initiatives. Roosevelt did not know anything about economics and his advisors made everything worse by admiring the Soviet Union.
President Franklin Roosevelt was one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. He created economic stability when the United States was suffering through the Great Depression. In his first three months of office, known as the Hundred Days, Roosevelt took immediate action to help the struggling nation.1 "In a period of massive unemployment, a collapsed stock market, thousands of banks closing for lack of liquidity, and agricultural prices fallen below the cost of production," Roosevelt passed a series of relief measures.2 These relief measures, known as the New Deal, provided help for individuals and businesses to prevent bankruptcy. However, he expanded the federal government, and especially the executive branch, so that it could help the American people in the decades to come. FDR has many accomplishments and achievements during his career as being president. For example, he managed to get a number of bills through congress during his “First 100 Days” program which was placed to grant fast relief to millions of workless men during the Great Depression. He also, created the Tennessee Valley Authority which was put in place to hire hundreds of thousands of unemployed men to work on the rural local projects. Furthermore, he came up with programs which include the AAA, SEC, FDIC, NLRA, and much more. The NLRA protected the livelihoods of the workers and farmers. Franklin Roosevelt was overall, an effective president albeit had some major blunders during his administration. Without Roosevelt, the Great Depression could have lasted a lot longer. Roosevelt’s New Deal provided jobs to millions and provided relief for ailing farmers. Public works projects and Roosevelt’s water policy improved the standard of living in under developed rural areas. For the first time in American history, the government took responsibility for helping citizens. With Roosevelt’s leadership, America was able to recovery from the Great Depression and emerge an economic superpower.
This quote from his inaugural speech, sums up the mood of the American people as Roosevelt was elected to be President of the United States in the deepest part of the depression. He faced numerous challenges as a result of the mismanagement of the previous successive Republicans governments such as a large proportion of the American population were out of work and the banking crisis. Roosevelt had promised the American people a ‘new deal’ at his acceptance of the democratic nomination for president in 1932, however, his campaign only offered vague hints of what it would entail. He put the question of economic security on the agenda. President Roosevelt explicitly and consciously defined the New Deal as the embodiment of freedom, but of freedom of economic security rather than freedom of contract, or freedom of every man for himself.
Theodore Roosevelt, was a revolutionary when it came to the political field. He made the nation new again after fifty years; he put pride in the American heart. Granted, he may have made a few arguable bad decisions, yet he breathed life into a country that was suffocating itself. Theodore Roosevelt was a great American President.
Roosevelt as President In 1932 Roosevelt became president in the U.S.A. Roosevelt gained the presidential status quite easily as the former president Hoover did nothing to get America out of the depression; he used the saying ‘Laissez – faire’. Roosevelt and Hoover were very different campaigners; Roosevelt had some good ideas to get America out of the depression, where as Hoover was noticeably unsuccessful with dealing with the Wall Street Crash and was kicked out of the white house in 1932. Hoover thought the government should stay out of businesses, ‘laissez faire’ and wait, but it soon was realised that the depression was becoming worse. At a last resort to try and stay president Hoover attempted to do something and interfere with businesses, by giving them loans etc, but the passion just wasn’t there.
Throughout history, America has had a plethora of leaders. A handful of these leaders have found a place in the heart of many Americans. Franklin D. Roosevelt, commonly referred to as FDR, is without a doubt one of these leaders. FDR made new laws, put forth many ideas, and raised the public’s morale before, during, and after WWII. He affected America in such a way that he brought us out of the slum of Great Depression. Even though Franklin D. Roosevelt put America in debt, his new deal policy gave millions of Americans jobs, stimulated the economy, raised public moral, and introduced new big government tactics. He was truly the people’s president.
On all of the issues discussed previously, Roosevelt holds the most positive positions. He is a smart man who clearly understands economics and social policy, while also having several other positive positions on subjects we have not yet discussed. When making the decision to vote for Roosevelt I also based my decision upon his previous track record as president. Following the assassination of President McKinley Roosevelt became president and had the opportunity to demonstrate his skill as a leader. Roosevelt, during his time in office, pushed for a form of environmental activism known as Conservationism.
F.D.R. had great leadership qualities he passed many forms in congress that probably would have failed otherwise would have failed. Roosevelt was elected the most of any other president in U.S. history. That proves that he could sway large numbers of people to believing that his way of thinking was the best. In February 1937, he asked Congress to authorize him to appoint as many as six new justices to the Court. A great controversy swept Congress and the country. Many people denounced the proposal to "pack" the Court. Roosevelt's plan failed, but the gradual retirement of the older justices brought more liberal ones to the Supreme Court. Even while the debate was going on, the Court had modified its decisions. Thereafter it approved of most government regulation of the nation's economy. Roosevelt was like a mad inventor he would come up with a plain to fix a problem and if I didn't work he would keep trying to cerotic it in tell he made it work to help the country. Some people criticized Roosevelt saying he tried to do to much, and even went as far as saying that he overstepped his boundries as being president. But in my option Roosevelt was probably the most important part of helping our country out of the depression.
President Roosevelt brought the executive branch of the government into power like never before. He is hated to this day by many people. But for the majority of the country during one of our toughest times, he was what we needed. Without consulting history acknowledging that, it’s impossible to judge what he did very negatively. The old ways weren’t working, and while President Hoover tried to do something, it wasn’t enough. President Roosevelt was more successful with the actions he took for relief during the Great Depression.
In the 1930’s the United States need a president that would be able to lead the country through the tough times of the Great Depression and World War II. Franklin D. Roosevelt was the man who was capable to lead the country through these challenging times.
