Genocide of the Rohingya Suleka Abdi Husband fought back and killed one of the attackers. A few nights later, “military and came to her house and called to her husband. Her husband woke up and went out of the house, and they told him, ‘You have to come with us for a walk,’ so he went with them. After a few days she heard her husband was killed by them.” (Allchin). I've always been intrigued by foreign affairs, the Genocide in Burma is not something most people are informed about and I did research to inform myself about what is going on in the world. Most people don't really know how curupt our world is. Theres a genocide going on in this day, and not much action isn't happening. Today will will cover the History of the Rohingya Muslims, The Rohingya are an ethnic Muslim minority who practice a Sufi-inflected variation of Sunni Islam. They differ from Myanmar’s dominant Buddhist groups ethnically, linguistically, and religiously. (end gen mil). Rakhine state, in the country’s northwest near the border of Bangeladesh, is home to an estimated 1 million Rohingya living in Myanmar today where they account for one third of the country's population. (global citizen). The Rohingya are Muslims who live in Myanmar. They have no identity. Despite having lived in the region for believes they are illegal immigrants with no cultural, religious, or social ties to Myanmar. (global citizen). Burma’s President Thein Sein has declared “There are no Rohingya” in Burma and they were denied recognition in the 2014 census. Furthermore, Burma’s 1982 Citizenship Act denies the Rohingya people citizenship, and forces them to claim to be Bengali migrants, allowing the government to easily deport them (endgen conflict). Evidently, the Rohingya's existence is denied completely by their The genocide rised from several conflicts within the region. The rape of a Rakhine girl triggered the Rakhine communities to develop intense hatred towards the muslims. The trouble in Rakhine started a little more than a month after I watched Suu Kyi being greeted by adulation. A 27-year-old Buddhist named Thida Htwe was allegedly raped and murdered in Rakhine. The rape was purportedly committed by a group of young Rohingya. The accusation caused a resentment towards the Muslim community (takepart). Clashes in Rakhine broke out in August 2017, killing more than five hundred people after a militant group known as the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) claimed responsibility for attacks on police and army posts. Burmese army responded with “clearance operations” that have forced refugees into Bangladesh and left tens of thousands more displaced inside the state (guard). These events show that Rohingya have taken part in starting a war with the Burmese Army. The genocide has also been triggered by religious differences. Myanmar’s population is overwhelmingly Buddhist and there is widespread hatred for the Rohingya. Buddhist nationalists, have operated a long Islamophobic campaign calling for them to be pushed out of the country (guard). Many victims told the Officer of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, OHCHR, that, for years, soldiers would taunt them,

The cause of this genocide is the Ba’athist extremists hating the Kurdish people, and miss interrupting what the Qur’an says. The Kurdish Genocide, which is also referred to as the al-Anfal Campaign was headed by Ali Hassan al-Majidgn, and led by the Ba'athist Iraqi President Saddam Hussein The Anfal campaign, which lasted between 1986 and 1989, took the lives of thousands of Kurdish civilians living in Iraq by the means of ground offensives, aerial bombing, systematic destruction of settle...
fearing revenge attacks”(“Rwandan Genocide: 100 days of slaughter”). However, the violence did not stop here. The RPF then became angry at the Democratic Republic of Congo, claiming that the Democratic Republic of Congo “letting[let] Hutu militias operate on its territory” (“Rwandan Genocide: 100 days of slaughter”). As a result of the RPF’s claims about the Democratic Republic of Congo, they have invaded the Democratic Republic of Congo two times (“Rwandan Genocide: 100 days of slaughter”). The problems of the Rwandan Genocide has led to chaos in the Democratic Republic of Congo that has caused around 5 million deaths (“Rwandan Genocide: 100 days of slaughter”).
Through this we see that the author’s point of view is someone who understands that the events that took place that morning in Burma, were not humane and degrading.
When 1937 arrived, Japanese soldiers raided China’s capital of Nanking and began to mass murder citizens. A sole leader of the Japanese Imperial Army was non-existent. There were many of people in power such as generals who allowed these behaviors to occur. Baron Koki Hirota, Foreign minister at the time, proceeded to do nothing while being well aware of the Japanese’s persecution of the Chinese. These unsympathetic murders of those who were thought to be Chinese soldiers as well as woman, children and elderly. This massacre lasted between the 1937 and 1938. Within this time 300,000 Chinese citizens were viciously killed. This genocide is called Rape of Nanking because of raping the woman before killing them. Most likely this group was selected because the second world war happened in Asia. This was significant because a country was able to kill half the population of another. I believe the reason of this Genocide was for Japan to take advantage of China while expand Japan. Most likely the Japanese wished to exterminate China’s entire population.
As of March of 2008, a total of 300,000 people have died in Darfur, Sudan due to genocide. That is equivalent to the entire population of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Genocide started back in February of 2003 in Darfur, Sudan. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights defines the liberties set for everyone in the World. Established in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights displays the rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled to. The situation in Darfur, Sudan is known as Genocide, Genocide is defined as a systematic extermination or attempt at exterminating a national, political, racial or cultural group. The Darfur Genocide has violated Article #3, Article #5 and Article #9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Darfur Genocide violates article #3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Article #5 has been violated by the Genocide in Darfur. Article #9 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been violated by the Darfur Genocide. Attacks in Darfur are mostly by a group called the Janjaweed which are an Arab based group supported by the Sudanese Government, to carry out attacks on people with different religious, economic and political views. The Darfur Genocide violates the rights of its citizens; steps should be enforced by United Nations and it allies.
When lines of identity inevitably blend, relative jurisprudence must be exercised. Lines make excluding circles and methods of excluding people from asylum; our international community divides into unwelcome and welcome nations. As discourse, cultural identity means translating beliefs and feelings from one culture to another. In the process of translation, a screen of cultural values filters understanding of the values and experience of the “other.” The simple word “refugee” evokes images and stories particular to a collectively defined identity, invoking “an image of the radicalized other” (Daniel 272).
The Darfur conflict is legally classified as genocide under the Statute of the International Criminal court because there was intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group. The intent to destroy a racial group is shown by claims that the Janjawid would yell “Masalit! Nuba! Kill them all!”, which are racial epithets. The Janjawid had similar rhetoric during rapes. The genocide in Darfur has claimed approximately 300,000 lives and displaced over 3 million people. As many as 3.2 million people remain in need of humanitarian assistance, which is more than a third of Darfur’s population. Even with this evidence there is a minority that argues that Darfur is not a genocide because genocidal intent ‘‘beyond reasonable doubt’’ has not been proven. One of the acts covered under crimes against humanity is sexual violence. One example of this used was when “Janjaweed militia wearing government uniforms attack a boarding school in Tawila, Darfur forcing 110 Zaghawa girls to strip naked at gunpoint before conducting multiple rapes and then setting the school on fire.” There were 14 incidents of mass killings in Dar Masalit alone between September 2003 and February 2004, attacks which left as many as 770 dead. The government used cruel tactics of bombing and burning villages, looting economic resources, and murdering, raping and
The Rwandan genocide slid under the radar causing thousands of Tutsi to be slaughtered. To start, the term genocide will be defined, the origin will be explained, along with the eight generic stages. In Rwanda, the genocide inflicted immense division of the country and the world. The actions took by the Hutu classified these killings as a genocide, according the these following stages. The Rwandan Genocide didn’t come to a conclusion until the relief came to the Tutsi civilization. The Rwandan genocide which was initiated by the Hutu government, was because of the distrust of the Hutu towards the Tutsi, believing they were out setting a uprising to gain power over the Hutu.
...defeating the Japanese, the British agreed in 1947 to grant the Burmese complete independence within a year. On January 4th of 1948, Burma would become an independent country.
Nationality is between a country and a person, sometimes the people who are no relate to any country, call stateless. Also some of the stateless can be refugees, these two groups of people is care by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). Nationless is a very big problem; it may affect more than 10 billion people in this world. Everyone in the world can be having their human right, but some activity in country only able nationals to participate, for example: election. Also much of the stateless didn't have their right, they may never get the ID of the country, just get in to jail, losing the chance of education and health services or can’t get a job (UNHCR, 2014).

Burmese love children. Most kids have countless numbers of adults who find time to dote over and spoil them. Older siblings are taught to sacrifice for their younger brothers and sisters. Everyone shares everything.
The Republic of the Union of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma (the rest of this paper will continue to refer to it as Myanmar unless using a direct quote), is a country nestled in Southeast Asia. It has had a relatively short independent life, formerly under British rule. Since its independence, Myanmar has spent much of its life under military rule. The leaders willingly cutting itself off from the Western world, it spent years at the receiving end of sanctions from the European Union and the United states for its various human rights violations. In 2007, the Saffron Revolution brought Myanmar into the spotlight. Thousands of monks took to the street to stand up against the tyrannical military government (McGeown, 2008). The harshness of the government and its actions against its people, lit up the world stage. In 2008, cyclone Nargis put the spotlight back on this country when over a seventy-five thousand people were killed ("Myanmar: Cyclone nargis," 2011). Aide coming into the country was met with resistance.
Before we proceed about the reasons or causes that brought to this ethnic issue and how the human security respond to this issue, let we introduce who is Rohingya first. According to (Chan, 2005), “The people who call themselves Rohingyas are the Muslims of Mayu Frontier area, present-day Buthidaung and Maungdaw Townships of Arakan (Rakhine) State, an isolated province in the western part of the country across Naaf River as boundary from Bangladesh. They were indeed the direct descendants of immigrants from the Chittagong District of East Bengal (present-day Bangladesh), who had migrated into Arakan after the province was ceded to British India under the terms of the Treaty of Yandabo, an event that concluded the First Anglo-Burmese War (1824-1826)”. The Rohingya are a Muslim minority population living mainly in the state of Arakan, in Burma that has not being accepted by their own country which is Myanmar. This is because, according to the Myanmar’s government, the Royingya ethnic is not their citizens but they are belongs to Bangladesh. Unfortunately, the Bangladesh’s government do not recognize them as well. So, starting from this rejection, the issue has persisted Rohingya up to this moment, with no solution yet.
