Gardening is very beneficial to not only human health but also to the health of the environment. Here are some of the examples of human health benefits; stress relief, heart health, risk of stroke, brain health and even Alzheimer’s risk. Overall it can help improve the lives of people that suffer with depression or some type of a mental issue. From health to community, gardening has a wide range of benefits, like community organizing by increasing a sense of the community organization or stewardship. It even goes so far to bring people together that might come from a wide range of diversity such as; culture, race, and even social status in a community. Not only does it filter some water but it also restores oxygen into the air to help reduce air pollution. Believe it or not but gardening could also be a good way to get some exercise in. Gardening can provide both aerobic and cardio to your daily routine, and for the older population it could even help with some of the osteoporosis they are having. If you mow the grass, it is like taking a forceful walk, all the while including some stretching and bending. When you decide to move plants or some soil, or mulch it could be compared to some people as a light weight lifting. Gardening can help reduce global warming by helping maintain greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide. A greenhouse gas helps trap the heat coming from the sun into Earth. Greenhouse gasses can be good because if we did not have these gasses the Earth would end up becoming very cold over time. But if we have too of these greenhouse gasses then the Earth would have a difficult time naturally cooling down. It could add some extra appeal to your house and in return increase the overall value of the home you are trying to sell, it could even help your home sell faster than a home without a garden. Some like to use it as a hobby, which I believe is a wonderful one to start. It is considered an art from to people, because it is a rigorous process that one has to go through to accomplish this. First you have to plan, plant, maintain, and observe your garden grow. This could bring munch satisfaction and improve overall self efficacy in a person. This is why all of us should learn the basic skills of gardening; it will improve your life.
