According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, “A Hero is a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” Anyone has the power to be what they want, you do not need to have superhuman strength, or unhuman like abilities to be considered a hero. I have three years’ experience at a military academy. I am dedicated, and I am looked up to. Which is why I am my own hero. In 2013, I decided to attend Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA) which is located in Fork Union, VA. I was a part of their student body for three consecutive years, over the course of those three years I learned four traits that not many teenagers develop at my age. I learned how to Respect others, and treat them exactly how I would like to be treated. Integrity, which is to do the right thing even when no one else is looking. Faith is having trust, and confidence in anything that you do. Lastly, I have Discipline. Having discipline is doing something not because you want to do it, but because you need to do it. These traits will get you far in life, and luckily I have those traits. Secondly, I am dedicated. When I say dedicated, I actually mean that I push myself to limits higher than you can imagine. They taught me what I want in life, and they gave me the integrity and discipline that I need in order to fulfill my dreams. They also showed me how I need to be in order to help my brothers and sister follow their dreams. I know that I possess the fine qualities that are seen in most heroes, and that is why I consider myself a hero. Of course there were people in my life that taught me these qualities, but each one was shown to me through a different person. I brought everything together and became my own hero to look up
