There were outstanding balances and the additional current month’s charges. Folole's husband contacted the energy company during her hospital visit to privacy laws. Mercury Energy would only speak with Folole since she was the account owner. The contractor arrived an hour before noon, and some of the family members made him aware of the medical circumstances. However, the contractor said that although he saw a medical tube to Falole’s nose, it was not connected to any equipment and that he was not made aware of any need for the oxygen supply. The Muliagas also did not have a telephone that worked in the house, and there was no way to call emergency assistance. Muliaga asked her sons not to call an ambulance. Folole died approximately a couple of hours after the electricity was turned off. A nephew of Falole alerted the media and tried to get the electricity reconnected. There were others requesting the same of Mercury Energy. Folole’s family alleged that the electricity company was negligent against Folole and her family. (Eweje & Wu, 2010) Stated the company was brought into questions by the media and others on the grounds of the corporate social responsibilities (Eweje & Wu, 2010). The executives of the company were asked to clarify their position with regards to the moral duties of the company in such circumstances. The Muliagas family had problems with how the police conducted the death investigation. They felt that the police were insensitive and showed a lack of Samoan cultural awareness. The police denied the allegations and stated that Folole’s sons cooperated fully with their investigation. The police announced that there was no evidence to justify any charge against the Mercury Energy, the contractor who disconnected the utilities or staff member spoken to in customer service. The Coroner ruled Folole Muliaga died of natural causes relating to being morbidly obese. However, there was stress having her power disconnected and not being able to use her oxygen machine contributed to her death. The Coroner criticized Mercury Energy their part in her death. The contractor was placed on stress leave and received counseling. The Muliaga family did not place any disciplinary or criminal actions taken against the

The case begins with a report of a house fire in a Virginia suburb. When firefighters arrived and extinguished the flames, they made a horrible discovery. All four members of the house were dead. 41-year-old Blaine Hodges, 37-year old Teresa Hodges his wife, and their two young daughters, 11-year-old Winter and Anah who was just 3 years old. Investigators arrived and interpreted the burn pattern. They also discovered the presence of an accelerant. They determined that the cause of the family’s death was not an accidental house fire. This immediately shifted the focus from an accident to something more sinister.

Christopher death could have been avoided if the Doctor had been able to identify the cause of his desaturation on time. Due to lack of nursing care and many human errors from both the medical team and nurses, it leads to his death as per the inquest. Patient safety was compromised. DR. young assumed it was due to obstructed airway. As Mr. Hammett had Guedels inserted. The inquest stated that the anesthetist was supposed to review the arterial blood gas and transferred Mr. Hammett to High dependency unit due to his desaturation event for more than 20min. The nurses looking after MR. Hammett in PACU was RN Turrell and RN Proud. To summarise, sudden death arising from natural causes must be carefully investigated in order to identify the precise mechanism of death and to eliminate any suspicion that the death may have been caused unnaturally. The investigation usually involves a post-mortem which is performed by a forensic pathologist in order to reveal the exact cause of death. This process is important in that it should inform the family of the deceased with the cause of death and perhaps significant information relating to hereditary disease. In the pleadings, a complaint needs to be filed by the plaintiff with the court and the defendants. In this case, the complaint was filed for wrongful death and injunctions. The complaint was given to both companies on May 14, 1982. Then, the defendants must answer within twenty-four hours of receiving the complaint to the summon or risk losing the case by default of the court. W.R. Grace denied the allegations against them. Also, their other defenses was that the complaint didn’t state any cause of action, in the complaint the company named was misnamed, the company followed the due of care at all times and acted in “good faith,” and the claims against them are barred. The next step is the methods of discovery.

In recent years, companies are becoming socially responsible and now stakeholders almost expect a company to have CSR policies. Therefore, in twentieth century, corporate social responsibility (CSR) became an important development in public life (Barnett, ND).Corporate social responsibility is defined as “the ways in which an organisation exceeds the minimum obligations to stakeholders specified through regulation and corporate governance” (Johnson, Schools and Whittington, N.D cited in March, 2012).
