First grade started off like any other school year, everyone was overjoyed to meet our new teacher. The first week of school Mrs.W was extraordinary, bringing us treats, and goodie bags. After the first month of school we all noticed a shift in her personality, she was controlling and didn’t seem to have any patience what so ever. On one specific occasion, my friend was talking a bit louder than the rest of us and Mrs.W didn’t seem to be pleased with that. She starred at my friend until most of the class noticed something was wrong. The way Mrs.W marched towards her desk, got a pair of scissors and started walking towards my friend didn’t seem like a good situation. She stood next to my friend and yelled at her to stick her tongue out. We all sat in silence and shock, of course my friend quickly refused to stick her tongue out, but Mrs.W grabbed her head and forced to stick her tongue out. I tossed and turned until she picked me up out of bed. I cried begging her to not take me to school, whenever she would ask why I would just say I didn’t want to. Every morning I would beg her to not take me until she would force me to. It got to the point to where the school counselor had to meet my mom’s car every morning outside and counselor would walk me to my class. My life consisted of constant terror every day of not knowing what my teacher’s next actions and emotions. Some days Mrs.W would have a mental breakdown in class and some days she would be the picture-perfect teacher. It wasn’t until there was a 1st-grade parent meeting held where my mom realized I wasn’t the only one who unhappy at school, several other moms and they also said their children dreaded going to school.
