Final Reflection Overall i finished in fourth place, which i am happy with. For a very long time i was in first place and was dominating everyone in the stock market. What really got me was how MBIA or MBI took a turn for the worse in the stock market, and ended up costing me $331.96 out of my profit. My ranking started in the top ten, i think during the first week i was placed 7th, and i worked my way up to first place. It did not really fluctuate during the course of the game until about 2 weeks until the game was over. That is when MBI took a turn for the worst and put me into fourth place. United States Steel Corp. is what got me the most money, i got 987.12 off of 216 stocks. MBIA was my least performing stock and cost me $331.96 in losses.
This experiment sought to utilize melting point, boiling point, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, and the index of hydrogen deficiency (IHD) to identify the structures of two unknown compounds. To ensure the successful identification of the unknowns, the molecular formula for each compound was found first. What the molecular formula does is that it allows chemists to identify elements present in a compound as well as the quantity of each element. The issue with this is that there are various compounds that share the same molecular compound yet are different in reactivity and connectivity. To resolve this problem, other measures such as finding functional groups based on IR spectroscopy, determining the boiling or melting point of a compound, and identifying the bond/ring structures using IHD are taken.
My score on the PRCA-24 was a 100 which lands me in the high level of communication apprehension area. A further breakdown of my score is as follows: Group Discussion-26, Meetings-26, Interpersonal Conversations-24, and Public Speaking-24. Since I am a very antisocial person, I knew my score would be very high. I am so antisocial that I rarely order my own food at a fast food restaurant when I am with a group. This type of situations will only intensify as I begin public speaking, so I am in desperate need of management strategies. After reading the first few chapters of the book, I have produced the strategies below.
My views about Ehrenreich’s novel that it was filled with educational details of minimum wage job occurrences. The author captures concrete memories of her experiences of several job positions. Working in several jobs of hard manual labor is exhausting for the mind and body. The job experiments involving all these jobs to see what many struggling people endure on a daily basis. I thought the experiments resulted in average, and intolerable work environments. Working one or two jobs was needed to survive and pay for necessities. From my perspective, it was a useful trial to show readers the hardships people of every culture deal with constantly.
This reflective essay will demonstrate the concept of reflection. The model of reflection by Driscoll, 2007 has been followed in this essay to reflect the clinical skills that I have studied and practiced in week 7to week 9 of this unit which assisted me to get prepared for the practical experience which I will commence at the end of this semester. I have practiced numerous skills during the practicals class, but this essay will be a focus on taking care of bedsore and wound management.
Suggested Improvements: Using the income before tax margin is a very useful tool when comparing companies the each other. Sometimes, when revenues are similar when evaluating two companies, it can be difficult to see if a company is more profitable than another when using just earnings because companies are effected but different tax percentages. After completing my Hot Zone Analysis, I saw several problem areas throughout my schedule. One of the more difficult Hot Zone areas I have is that both ENC 1101 and MATH 0022C have quizzes on mostly the same days. I also had scheduled two online finals on the same day and several quizzes the week before them. This schedule would mean that I would have very little time to review before each one. Another big Hot Zone was my commitment to my church and attending all services offered; this cut back on my time able to study throughout the week.
In this reflective analysis of NAEYC Standard three, Observing, Documenting, and Assessing to Support Young Children and Families, I will first reflect on my growth, as an early childhood professional, during my course of study. Secondly, I will address my strengths related to the standard and discuss areas in need of further professional development. Finally, I will outline my goals for future growth and development. Early childhood educators demonstrate professional competence by understanding the role of assessment and the various methods of assessing student learning, including observation, documentation and standardized testing. These assessment strategies, along with partnerships with parents, can support students in their development and growth, by informing instruction and evaluating instructional practices.
Background: Refraction is opposite of reflection where it bends the light and does not "bounce" it off of something. When light changes directions it must go through one medium to another at a specific angle to be bent. This bending is called refraction. Refraction causes our brains to be tricked and see an object not in its true position. This is because of how the light is bending. Light travels through different materials at different speeds. In the book, “The Element” by Ken Robinson he discusses how different education systems all over the world are but focuses on the education system in the United States. The reason being is that he believes that there are faults that need to be fixed because it doesn’t focus on the students individually and discovering their “element” but, on academics, business and state testing. Robinson claims that education itself is supposed to be a process in which it develops all resources.
In order to make the most logical and beneficial purchases, it was first important that I fully understood the terminology used within the stock market. Words such as blue chip stock, mutual fund, stock splits, and ticker symbol would all prove incredibly important for me to understand if I was to do well within the game. For example, the first stock I bought, Disney, taught me the definition of a ticker symbol - in Disney’s case, DIS. This enabled me to quickly identify other stocks by their ticker symbols as well, and I soon became familiar with the term. In addition, when I bought Coca-Cola, I soon learned its financial importance as a reliable blue-chip stock, as it and other stocks like it proved profitable for me. My class was also required to buy a mutual fund, and in doing so I learned how exactly a mutual fund differs from a stock, the positives and negatives of buying one, et cetera. In addition, my knowledge of the history that places like the NYSE contains proved incredibly important towards my success within the game. Because I learned about the NYSE’s foundation and the many people who worked to make it what it is today, I was able to fully appreciate the importance of the stock market as I moved through the simulation. This, in turn, helped me take the Stock Market Game seriously and not waste any of my money on stocks that I considered
The hardest part of this exam was to apply the concepts/ knowledge learned during the semesters and use them to answer clinically based scenarios. During the semesters, we are thought the material in bit and pieces, but in order to effectively perform on this test it is important to put all the concepts learned together. This test was very abstract in about 75% of the questions and concrete in about 25% of this test. This exam required clinical thinking, sequencing of practice guidelines, and overall medical normative values. While studying for the PEAT 1, I over looked the little details and skipped onto the bigger more concrete concepts such as definitions, anatomy, etc. instead of understanding concepts as a whole. Have you ever invested in the stock market? If so, do you know where your money is really going? The stock market is a risky business and it can make or break people’s lives. The stock market is used daily to keep America on its trembling feet; it’s also being used at this very moment to cheat people out of money for personal gain. This happens every day in the stock market and its evolving rapidly, super computers that can trade faster than a blink of an eye, social media trends that can predict share values, and intricate stock market schemes that are getting harder and harder to find and take down.
Digital devices, such as laptops, can be used to reveal the likes and personality of the owner. In other words, a laptop case or skin can be personalized with stickers that represents what the person appreciates, and is interested in. In two of my classes one day at Kent State University, I decided to observe students to get insight into what they may enjoy based on what was displayed on their laptops, and I noticed that some students seemed to enjoy expressing themselves through the exterior of their laptop. Furthermore, they use the outside of their laptops to convey what is important to them with stickers and decals. These people and others like them, who use their laptop for expression, provide a spectacle for society to see who they are.
Never have I ever climbed a mountain peak. As a child, I imagined myself conducting expeditions in deep-frozen pathways, leading amateur explorers to the top of the world, and instructing rookies in surviving harsh blizzards. Even though slightly altered, my childhood dream has been achieved. I led a team of fellow classmates, in my Strategic Management course, to the success summit of a financial competition. Over the course of a semester, I and my teammates were supposed to create and manage a company of the IT industry, in a computer-simulated environment, along with other four rival teams. I dealt with strategy and financial matters of our virtual enterprise, while my colleagues were working on marketing and manufacturing. During the four months of the exercise, I have experienced finance from various aspects: capital budgeting, through selecting favorable investment for upcoming quarters; debt management, by assessing the necessary amount and efficiency of loans; profitability analysis and dividend policy, which had been used to compile the company’s general performance index. Working in a multinational team, which included an American, a Norwegian and a Moldovan, strengthen my negotiations skills, as well as flexibility and cooperation. But above all, this experience intensified my passion for finance. Of course, a pleasant bonus was the fact that, in the end, our company’s financial performance was six times the performance of second-best team.
