Violence against women is a signifacnt barrier in women acheiveing full equality. Any form of violence against women whether it being economic, secual physical. stalkimg, or sexual harrasement limits a women' freedom. The knowelege of violence against women is very limited and it fail to more of the deep-rooted nature of violence and how the genderd attiudes have supported this issues for many years. Many feminisit activists hav done a great work in suppoting women try to leave violennt relationsips. According to Tracy (2007) feminist theorists believe that partiarchy is the cause of all abuse agaisnt women and explains the power struggles in the partiarchal societies that men are in the postiton of domiance and when threathened resort to violence. Tracy (2007) explains that many early feminist such as Susan Brownmiller talked about rapes in human history and that rapes has become a weapon of force against women and a trimpuh in masculinity. Brownmiller alsoagrues that ebcause of perehistoric time to present that rape is playing a critical role on how to keep women in the state of fear. According to Kelly (2002) domestic violence is a not gender netural due to econmoic division of labour and the insitituion of marriage is gender neutral. Kelly (2002) explains the cycle of power and control and how it has replaced the cycle of violence to help depiction of gender driven violence and also emphasize on the fact that physical violence is the only part and the most important part of the partiarchal strucutre. O'Connor and Wilson (1998) explains that feminist have recomgnized other forms of violence which one group controlls the other and thatr violence against women has two elements. The first element look at the prepetraotr and it is men who are inmiate or a male family memebr. The second elemt being men'sviolence is objectifing, sexualizing, and commodified women in many different ways. According to the Boston Women's Health Book (1998) man's vilence against women is resulting in psychological problems, sexual frustation and life pressure that triggers the aggression and these reasons isused to explain and jusfotgu male violence towards women. Boston Women's Health Book (1998) explains that men have been taught the domiance and control is accpetable and violence is another way to be domiant and in control and this will help resolve conflict and express anger toward women.
