In the present day, females who are within the media (entertainers/socialites) have been given a global platform to go about showcasing their contribution to media and their lives, this way it has allowed for the ‘ordinary’ women and men to be influenced by their culture and lifestyle based on what is presented on television and social media. has shown that the amount of females within media has increased over the years. This has allowed them to have a larger impact within society both negatively and positively. Many television and film content producers have brought about a concept known as “sex sells” what this movement means is that if people are portrayed in a more sexualized way, then it will capture a large audience. The execution of this concept on television has brought about a change based on female’s conductivity and the way they dress. Females on television have been placed in a box where they have to show more skin or wear tighter fitting clothes to show off their figures in order to get more viewership, this has allowed girls to feel as if they need to wear the same. It has a psychological effect on young girls as all they see on television are women who are half dressed with bodies that may be similar. According a the sexualized portrayal of females on television has caused on increase on the development of children, because of females being half dressed on music videos and television shows it pushes children to want the adult clothing materials and look like them, this increase in development has hindered the process of growing up as children are now in a rush to look older and dress like older women, again this shows that female media personalities are …show more content…

Studies have shown that even though a women has reached a certain age that considers them an adult it is not a given that the individual cannot be consumed by society’s opinion on what is acceptable or not. It is a reality that some women cannot help but to compare themselves with either younger women or women they find ‘better’ looking than them, indicate to us that this time of influence can be transferred to the younger generation, as a parent one has to teach their kids the principles they may feel are essential in life, a women who is influenced by media’s perception of the female body may transfer the same mindset to her daughter, this resulting in an increase within the negative influence that female media personalities may have on society and the
