1. The thesis statement of the essay is ““Feel Good Inc.” is about a guy who wants to escape from Feel Good Inc., a company which gives people pleasures like sex, drugs, and alcohol.” I believe this is an accurate representation of the message in the video because it perfectly sums up the video. The video revolves around a guy who sees the floating island with a windmill, which represents freedom, from the Feel Good Inc. tower and wants to escape to the island and get away from the tower. However, even though he wants to leave the tower he fails and the windmill ends up passing by and leaving him at the tower. 2. I believe the author analyzed the video very well. I would give this essay a grade of 90%. The author follows the following essay criteria: a brief summary of the video at the beginning; a clear and concise statement of the main message represented in the video; an analysis that looks at the images, lyrics, and music; specific details from the video to support the analysis; effective organization; a brief statement of how the video defines/represents your philosophy or outlook on life; a brief summary of the story the video tells and why that story is significant to you; two to four pages typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins; edited for spelling, mechanical, grammatical, and typing errors. However the essay does not reach these criteria points: accompanied by a sheet that contains the complete URL for the internet site where the video can be viewed online; accompanied by a typed or photocopied list of lyrics; accompanied by a Works Cited page. I remember Instructor Martell being very specific on the fact that the lyrics and works cited were necessary, so I took off 10% for not having them. However, the essay itself looks fantastic. It flows really well and explains the video and music very well. It will be very useful in helping me form my
