They’re three things a person must know in contemplation to learn and gain success and those three are Effort, Practice, and Failure. Considerable amount doesn't understand that learning and success depend on how much effort you put in, how much you practice, and how various amount of times you fail. But fix your mistakes so you can learn from them and achieve your desired goal.
According to Duckworth “It does take work, but when you feel better and stronger all the work is worth It.” What she means is yes, it does take a great amount of work when you put towards the effort, but all that will be worth it in the end because you will feel, better and stronger towards yourself and what you have done. That alone will lead to you learning from it, and success because you achieved and overcame what you have done with the effort you put in. A person’s success increases with their passion for trying and reaching for their goals.

Carol Dweck mentions that under any condition good to tell children they’re smart because when they fail, they’ll beat themselves up over it. In Paul Tough’s paragraph, he mentions How “there are no shortcuts” to success. Also in Paul Tough’s article, he says how, if you are receiving success all your life and face a challenge it will feel different and “you will start questioning how you got here.” it is alright wanting to attain success but, people need to learn how to fail at the same time.“ When a person faces a challenge after failing it helps them because they are motivated to work harder and it will end with them
“There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs,” was said by motivational speaker and American author Zig Ziglar. This relates to Carol S. Dweck’s article “Brainology” and Sherman Alexie’s essay “Superman and Me.” Ziglar, Dweck, and Alexie all feel that it isn’t easy for someone to become successful. It takes hard work, perseverance, and the want to learn and grow. In Dweck’s article, she stated that someone with a growth mindset would become more successful and knowledgeable than someone with a fixed mindset, which was demonstrated by Alexie in his essay, and by a personal experience of my own.

These children do not have to go through everything they parents went through to be successful. They do not know the meaning of working hard, setting goals and achieve those goals. So these kids end up losing their goals and sense of self-worth, Gladwell says.
Introduction- In order to succeed in life, you have to be open to trying new experiences, even if you know you might fail. If you do fail, you have to persevere and try again if you want to reach your goal. To become better than you are, you must be exposed to new ideas and moments of failure and doubt.
We were taught as a child that the road to success is based on our intelligence. The ability to thrive in our education and career will lead us to a happy healthy life. Paul Tough an American Canadian, wrote a book called “How children Succeed,” he explain that intelligence is not the only the key to success, but there are more to it than having cognitive skill because non cognitive plays an important role in a child life. In chapter 1, Tough argues that a positive surrounding in a children life can help shape a positive outcome to a child achievement in life.
Results of students who received praise for intelligence: The students in this category had negative results after receiving praising. When asked afterwards if they wanted to do the same level of problems or try more challenging ones, they chose the task that would allow them to look smart and do well on. Consequently, while telling a child how smart he or she is, we are sending a message to not take risks and just look the part. Afterwards, these children were given a hard task, which they performed poorly on, and they know longer liked the problems and did not want to practice them at home. Children also felt “dumb” and when given the initial task (in which they did well), they performed significantly worse. Lastly, their opinions of intelligence reflected that it was an innate capacity as though you cannot improve.
The article “How to Be a Success” by Malcom Gladwell speaks about how success is something that can be achieved if you put the time and work into it, and how success is not achieved overnight but rather through long hours of constant practice. His article is targeted to more than one group of individuals. The groups of individuals that his article targets are teenage students, young adults, adults, people who want to become an expert, or want to succeed in something they have an interest in and in general society. Another article also related to the success of an individual “An A+ Student Regrets His Grades” by Afraj Gill describes how in society many schools focus more on students’ grades, rather than their learning, and how a student is
After reading Carol Dweck’s article, “The Secret to Raising Smart Kids”, it occurred to me how much a mind-set can be changed from one to the other with a few simple words of encouragement or by discouraging them. To improve a kid’s willingness to learn we should be praising the trials and error they are making. Help them by explaining what they did wrong and figure out what it is that needs more attention. “Many people assume that superior intelligence or ability is a key to success.” However, according to some research in the past few years, shows that too much of praise of “talent” or “complete intellect” leads to unmotivated learners because of fear of failing.
According to Angela Lee “ The key to success is Grit “ . Studies show that students with Grit are more successful than the students with a high I.Q. , In fact Grity kids were most likely to graduate than their peers . The difference between kids with Grit and the others is that , Grit kids aren't willing to failure put them down , in other words they are willing to fail to start all over again . Grit kids know that failure is a part of learning and
Gladwell demonstrates that hard work does not get people to high places but a series of opportunities and other factors will. What people have grown up to think about hard work is not true and it is demonstrated through these various examples. People will not be able to succeed, practice, and master their skills without opportunities, timing, devotion, and moral support. There is no such thing as “rags to riches” because those people would not be rich unless they had opportunities in their life. Remember that with out these key factors, people will never be able to succeed.
Most of the time I step up to the plate, I fail. It is tolerable if I fail; it is human nature. But when I go up to the plate and do everything right, I succeed. All my dedication, practice and determination pays off when I finally succeed and then it feels amazing! All the hard work comes down to finally being able to accomplish something after you’ve failed and failed again. The ability to be able to focus on a goal and accomplish that goal is what you need to succeed at many things in life.
Reams of research show that kids who are praised for being smart fixate on performance, shying away from taking risks and meeting potential failure. Kids who are praised for their efforts try harder and persist with tasks longer. These “effort” kids have a “growth mindset” marked by resilience and a thirst for mastery; the “smart” ones have a “fixed mindset” believing intelligence to be innate and not malleable.
As Beverly Sills once said, “You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try.” Many people in modern day society are way too concerned with social status and reputation. As a result, these people are afraid to strive and reach for their goals because they do not want to be associated with failure and the negative connotations that it brings. However, those in society who do strive to be something great and are not afraid to fail are often the ones who enjoy life the most and reap its benefits. In order to accomplish lofty life goals and avoid total disappointment, one must give effort in everything he/she does so that there is never any doubt that he/she has lived life to the fullest.
There will always be challenges in life, and we must work to beat them in order to become successful. Even though the type of success people aspire to vary between different people, one thing to obtain it remains the same, effort. Jim didn’t get his dream job right out of high school because he was unprepared for the hard work it requires. After that, Jim started going to night classes, and it is more probable he will become successful. If you go through life assuming that other people will do your work, then you’ll never get anywhere. Effort is the most important thing in undertaking any
I believe that hard work is the real treasure of a person because without hard work we cannot achieve our dreams and goals in life. No one can achieve success without doing hard work. It starts when we stop looking for alternatives or shortcuts towards success. We need to remember that there are no short cuts to success. Hard work, complimented with an intense desire to struggle and to achieve success is the only sure way of reaching success that you have always wanted. Hard work is one of the secret for us to be successful in life. Laziness and sluggishness makes one’s life a curse and only hard work can make your life a blessing. We cannot work hard if we don’t have goals. The meaning of goal according to Wikipedia is a desired result of a
