The Brown decision came about through several factors including the Plessy vs. Ferguson decision, the Holocaust, the Cold War, Racists studies done by Kenneth and Mamie Clark, and finally Earl Warren and Japanese Internment Camps. Brown vs. Board of Education decision started several changes such as media chicken and careful calculated manipulation and blacks finally receiving unforeseen rights. To begin with, at the time of the Plessy vs. Ferguson decision the laws were so stringent that if a person had any bit of black in them they would be ridiculed and had prejudice against them. In this experiment they had several different dolls. A white, mixed, and a black doll. They did the study in segregated schools in Washington D.C. and integrated schools in New York. They found that the black kids in the segregated schools in Washington D.C. chose the white dolls to play with while the all the kids in the integrated schools in New York chose a variety. What this was saying was that the black kids in the segregated school wish they could be white. This is a critical study that came about during the Brown vs. Board decision. Finally another big vital factor in the Brown vs. Board decision was a man by the name of Earl Warren. Earl Warren was governor in California and encouraged and produced the Japanese Internment camps during WWII. He received a great deal of grief and scolding for having done that awful thing. After this he felt an immense amount of resentment. Later he was appointed as Supreme Court Justice. Then the Brown vs. Board decision came to his court.
