I take the position that cell phones should not be allowed in schools. I think this because cell phones are not always safe in schools which means kids can get hurt. Another reason I think this is they can be a distraction. If students are distracted it might hurt their grades, which might make it harder to get into the college they want. Also, they can be used to cheat. My first reason that cell phones should be banned from schools is that cell phones are not always safe. One example of this is in an emergency, the parents could all be trying to call their kids, but that will slow the phone network down. If the phone network is slowed down it will take longer to call the firemen, and the police. Another example of this is from inner experience when I look at so much different articles the safety experts say cell phones should be banned from schools. My final example is cell phones cell phones leak radiation and if cell phones leak radiation kids can get sick from being on their cell phones too long. One example of this is a study released in 2010 showed that even when a school banned cell phones more that 50% of the students in the class still text messages while in class. This shows that clearly students are not learning very well while in class. Another example is a study released in 2010 showed that total media exposure per day for teens increased from 7 hours 29 minutes a day in 1999, to 10 hours 45 minutes a day in 2009.
