Is this crime one that is more or less likely to be reported? Explain. Sexual assaults and rape crimes are not likely to be reported for many reasons. A lot of the time a sexual assault occurs, the victim goes through a lot of emotions all at once. These emotions can include anger, fear, and depression. These emotions can be overwhelming and can scare the victim into not reporting the crime. The victim can also feel afraid of reporting the crime because they believe the perpetrator might come after him/her again. Victims may also feel embarrassed and ashamed about going public about the assault. Due to the assault, victims feel betrayed and unsafe. They often do not know who to tell about the assault and whether
The physical ones can include bruising, bleeding, broken bones, low weight, addiction to drugs, and health problems. The emotional impact can include PTSD, anxiety, depression, and lack of empathy; conduct disorders, being involved in bullying, and even delinquency.
What may be some long term reactions/impacts of the crime? The long-term impacts of child abuse and neglect can be detrimental. The victims of child abuse usually have a continuous pattern of mental disorders. These can include PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, unhealthy relationships, lack of empathy, and even promiscuity. Not every victim of child abuse becomes an attacker, but most attackers tend to have been abused as children.
Who might blame the victim and why? The victim might blame the circumstances such as the environment or any substances used prior to the abuse occurring. The victim might also blame other adults that are not knowingly not putting a stop to the abuse. Nonetheless, the victim might also blame him/herself. The victim may being to think the abuse is his/her fault. This is common in all forms of abuse, but children are more naive and can be manipulated much easier than adults.
