I think that the story is realistic fiction. I think that the genre is realistic fiction because the President can make us start having wars again. We can start fighting for our freedom, the way that Katniss is. In the Hunger Games no one likes the games but the capital and President Snow. Everyone is trying their best to stop the games. Progontist: The main characters in the story are Katniss, Petta, Gale, Prim and President Snow. Katniss is the main character in the story because she starts making people look at her when she volunteers to fight in the games instead of her sister, Prim. She does not want her sister to risk her life of dying in the games. In the games they pick a boy and a girl. Petta is the boy is from Katniss’ district that starts helping her so that their district can win. They are both in district 12. Gale is Katniss’ best friend. They both go into the woods so that they can get food for their families and when she goes to fight he protects her family. Prim is Katniss’ little sister that was supposed to go to the games. President Snow is from the Capitol and is the one making everyone participate in the games. He makes a lot of rules. For example, he does not like people to whistle and put the peace sign or they will die in front of everybody because it shows that they are thinking about doing a rebellion. …show more content…

While she is trying to see who she could trust she also has to fight to survive. Even when she finds someone to trust like her friend Rue they die and leave her alone.
