“Renaissance Man” also Known as The Regeneration of Bill Rago Renaissance Man has many interpretations, most significant one is the referral of Shakespeare's play Hamlet. It is hard to believe but this movie should be the blockbuster of 1994. Personally Renaissance Man should be given 5 stars for the comedy content. Since Bill Rago executed the role of his character perfectly. As mentioned, the content of the movie revolves around Hamlet. The movie starts out with, showing the difficulties in Bill Rago's (Danny DeVito) life that he is divorced, gets fired from his job Detroit and has a daughter, who wants to go, see an eclipse in Mexico. First off, almost all of the movie takes place in a classroom in a military zone where the group of imbecile soldiers called the Double D learn about Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. But the content was really intriguing because while informing the viewer about Hamlet they managed to make it a comedy which almost sounds as if what Shakespeare would have done in the sixteen hundreds. The cast was perfect for the roles they were given. Since it felt like viewer can analyze the play and enjoy the comedy while not getting annoyed by the characters. The place of the movie the military zone enhanced the effect of Bill Rago’s teaching skills. This made him teach with less discipline and relaxed exact opposite of what the military wants to do. This film can be used for motivational purposes. It shows anyone can learn Shakespeare if they put their minds to it. This can be seen when Bill is teaching Shakespeare and when the students respond. Also the film can get the viewer thinking and perhaps start good discussions. It can even be meaningful. In which the movie is is not only about the teacher who teaches and the students learning but it shows that students can be the educator and the teacher the
