Geothermal is energy produced from the heat of the earths core. It is a natural resource that is very plentiful. Heat contained in the earth is so intense it creates molten magma. There are different types of geothermal energy. Some are formed with magma near the earth’s surface and heats groundwater. The steam from this is turned into geothermal energy, which is electricity produced from the steam of the water.
Other geothermal energy can be produced from the heat of rocks. The heat of the rocks is used because there is no magma near by. The rocks are heated by the magma deep below the earth’s surface. To produce this, water is run through the rocks heating the water to produce geothermal energy.
The amount of heat and quantity is very high to produce geothermal energy; even though it is a very good source of energy there are downfalls. Geothermal is not a widespread source of energy. Because it isn’t a common source of energy, there is a lack of equipment, employees, and infrastructure to develop this type of energy. Along with this ...
