Emotional Disturbance is a condition where a student/person has an inability to learn through intellectual, sensory, or health factors. It is commonly referred to as ED. These individuals are also unable to maintain relationships with peers and teachers, and because of this they can develop a tendency to demonstrate physical symptoms or fears associated with personal or school related problems. They can also display inappropriate types of behavior or feelings under normal circumstances. They would need a Special Education License with Strong Management Skills, and they should have high expectations for all students, not just one. If a teacher doesn’t have high expectations, the students will most likely expect to just do their own thing, thinking that the teacher does not care. Through on-site training the teacher would be able to know how to handle difficult situations if they arise. Even though he/she will be behind in the other classes he/she won’t cause other students to fall behind. This will cause the student to become comfortable instead of being in a rush to complete his assignments so the other students can move onto the next problem/assignment. This student would be happier than the student above, because the students won’t have to wait for him/her to complete the problem, and the students wouldn’t fall behind in their grade level because of him/her. The result of the student in a one-on-one environment has a greater impact than having the child in a regular classroom. But having the child interact with kids his/her own age is also very important because it helps him/her connect to with his/her peers and learn necessary socialization skills that are needed in and outside of the school
