The Emancipation Proclamation

On January 1’st 1863 The Emancipation Proclamation was issued stating that all people held as slaves were to be freed.
I think that I would rather be a slave master that has just lost his slaves rather than being a freed black former slave for these main reasons,
-They had better living conditions
-Slavery wasn't completely over when the Emancipation Proclamation was issued
-It was easier for them to get a job.

I believe that the slave owners had better living conditions because they would've already had a house and land to live in.
They also had prior income to support themselves even if they had no beneficial skills. I think that they would also have more friends and people that could teach them skills
