Ed Sheeran, a popular musician, has won over 61 awards and has been nominated for over 100 in the past few years for his phenomenal work in the music industry. He once stated, “Music is a powerful tool in galvanizing people around an issue. There's no better way to get your point across than to put it in a beautiful song.” Throughout the years, Sheeran has been making heartfelt and memorable music that a plethora of people love to listen to. Edward Christopher Sheeran was born on February 17, 1991 in the town of Framlingham, England but later moved to Halifax. His parents names were Imogen and John Sheeran and his brother was Matthew Sheeran. His friends and family called him Ed or Teddy, rather than Edward. Growing up, Ed had both a hearing and seeing problem which led him to having to wear big chunky glasses. Other problems Sheeran had was his hearing, stuttering, and his bright red hair. Kids often bullied Sheeran for all of his problems he had, and the only thing that came close to making it better was his love for music and acting. From releasing major hit songs, to winning grammys, Ed Sheeran has taken over the music industry and made people fall in love with his songs. As mentioned before, Ed created his first EP at the young age of 14 and continued to create extraordinary music. This was just the beginning for him. Biography.com’s article on Ed Sheeran mentions, “Without any promotion, the record reached No. 2 on the iTunes chart, and he signed on with Atlantic Records that same month.” Ed made the tops charts in very little time and was being heard all over the world. Once Sheeran was on the right foot, his career skyrocketed. Also, when Ed Sheeran went to the United States for the first time he became more and more popular. His fanbase kept increasing and because of that, other artists wanted to collab with him and make songs. According to Biography.com, “Sheeran began co-writing songs with bigger artists, such as One Direction and Taylor Swift, and supported Swift on her 2013 arena tour.” Sheeran didn’t hesitate to make famous friends and get into the American music business. After collabing with many other talented artists, he started to get even more well known. Additionally, “...with the latter winning the Grammy for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance in 2016” (biography.com). His songs were so successful that he was gaining a plethora of fans and this caused him to win a Grammy.
