Being an immigrant myself, there are many problems that an immigrant faces that comes with immigration to another country. This may include economic problems, family problems, education, issues of discrimination, sense of belonging, and many more. Immigration has an impact on the immigrants such as economic impact, the impact of immigration on children and youth, and education. Based on interviews in a survey from a book, statistics from the government, and from the person that was personally interviewed, the impacts of immigration can be further discussed.

An example of this would be Khrizzelle’s troubles fitting into the community in which she found herself alone in school for a month, and wearing ‘short skirt’ uniform even though she felt horrible for wearing it for the sake of fitting in. Another part of identity is we want to have a sense of belonging. Statistics say that immigrants reported a strong sense of belonging to Canada and the source country (69%), strong sense of belonging to Canada with a weak sense to the source country (24%), strong sense of belonging to source country with a weak sense to Canada (3%), and a weak sense of belonging to Canada and the source country (4%) (Berry et al., 2016) Based on this, we are slowly drifting apart to our relatives that are in the source country.
