Yes indeed, the execution of new strategy will primarily require good financial management to achieve success. The following functions tend to be the most important:
1. Financial Planning-
" It begins with the developing of Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) for the quality improvement and service which incorporates the expected future income and expenses for each and every element of our new strategy. It also specifies the exact cost and the time for it to occur. It gives us an estimate of financial outcomes in various scenarios which helps the management predict the success and profitability of the strategy.

The hospital still has to allocate for the maintenance and operation costs. It usually takes up a lot of hospital's resources. Such costs should be included in the budgets and the financial impact of it should be analyzed before implementation.

2. Introduction of EHR, implement the concept of evidence-based decision making and learning culture for all the caregivers and other professionals who are directly involved with the use of new knowledge-based management system. The organization would have to work towards motivating the healthcare professionals to learn and train using EHR when the physicians of LMF are already being overwhelmed with busy work schedule in the need to provide personalized quality care. Implementation of the new IT system would compel them to do the required training in order to use the new software. This would also slower down work processes in the beginning since EHR tasks and functions would overload them.

3. Outside contractors and vendors might be needed since EHR is a highly technical area and their expertise would be of great help. But these vendors would be an extra cost to the …show more content…

The board would be concerned with the appropriate use and security of the data, confidentiality, corruption and hacking. Data entry and data retrieval usually are both challenging situations. Since the users are newly trained and not very committed, there is a greater chance of system information being disclosed or abused if not properly handle. The consequences of confidentiality or security breach are serious and can lead to large legal implications. So, the healthcare professionals need to buy in this particular action of LMF before they plan to introduce the EHR into the organization. The 3 criteria which would be priority would be leadership, Strategic planning, Measurement analysis and Knowledge management along with workforce focus. All these would not be possible without the influence of firm leadership.
